Jiangsu University (JSU) adheres to the distinctive characteristics and advantages of “agriculture involved in industry, agriculture supported by industry”. Currently, School of Agricultural Engineering has 102 faculty and staff members, including 18 doctoral supervisors and 49 senior titles. 96.3% of them have got PhD degrees. Among them, there is 1 academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 2 specially-appointed academicians, 7 national-level talents, and 37 provincial- and ministerial-level talents. Besides, the school has 3 innovation teams of Jiangsu Province.

The school has 1 national key discipline, 1 superiority discipline of Jiangsu Province, and 1 national first-class major. In the fourth round of subject evaluation by the Ministry of Education, the subject of agricultural engineering was rated A-, ranking third in China.

In the past 5 years, the school has undertaken 56 national-level projects and 73 provincial and ministerial-level projects, with a total funding of nearly 100 million yuan. Besides, the school has more than 260 high-quality papers published, together with 26 international PCT patents and 416 national invention patents authorized. In recent years, the school has won 1 National Science and Technology Progress Award, 1 National Technical Invention Award, 1 Chinese Patent Gold Award (the only one in the field of agricultural machinery), 6 first and 16 second prizes of provincial- and ministerial-level.
