Instructions for Visa Application to China

1. Application process

1.1 Documents Verification: Applicants are suggested to consult the consulate by phone or email regarding the visa types and documents requirements, and send their application and attachment to the Embassy’s email for verification. If the documents’ verification are accurate and complete, then applicants may proceed to online application.

1.2 Fill in the E-application form online: Visa applicants (excluding those applying for Hong Kong SAR and Macau SAR visas) can access and fill out the E-application forms and print out the confirmation page and full application form (8 pages in total). Afterwards, sign both on the confirmation page and the application form.

1.3 Make online appointment: After above steps, the applicant needs to make an appointment  and booking the date.

1.4 Submit at the Visa Office Front Counter: After the appointment is successfully made, the applicant could bring confirmation page, full application form, original passport, ID photo and other application documents to the Embassy for application processing.

2. Requirements of documents:

2.1 Application form completed online (Please print-out of the full form, 8 pages in total and the confirmation page);

2.2 Original passport and copy of the information page or other pages if needed;

2.3 One original photo same as in the application form;

2.4 Certificate of lawful stay or residence permit (for citizens of other countries who are in Estonia);

2.5 Certificate of COVID-19 vaccination;

2.6 Other supporting documents the Embassy required in case of need

In addition to the visa documents in 2.1 to 2.6 above, the following types of visa documents must be submitted:

X1-Visa:Issued to foreign students who intend to go to China for long-term academic education in China.

The original & photocopy of "Visa Application for Study in China" (Form JW201 or Form JW202),  Admission Letter issued by a school or other entities in China (for new student) and original & photocopy of Proof of Returning to School issued by a school or other entities in China (for returning student).
