I. From the date of the issuance of this notice, long-term overseas students who are going to China for academic education can submit their X1 visa applications.

II. Procedure for X1 Visa Application

Applicants for X1 visa are required to submit the documents to China Visa Application Center (CVAC) based on the consular districts.

a. CVAC in Abuja

Address: Churchgate Plaza, First Floor, Plot 473, AO Cadastral Zone, Constitution Avenue, Central Business Area, FCT, Abuja

b. CVAC in Lagos

Address: Second Floor, The Manor, Plot 110, Admiral Ayinla Way, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos

III. Required Documents of X1 Visa Application:

(1)Visa application form and confirmation page.(Fill out the electronic application at?http://cova.mfa.gov.cn,?submit online, and print out the downloaded PDF form and sign both the confirmation page and the eighth page);

(2)Passport with at least six month of remaining validity and blank visa pages, and a photocopy of the information page of the passport;

(3)Visa Application for Study in China (JW201 /JW202 Form), Letter of Admission?(For new students)/ Consent Letter for School Return (For enrolled students) (original and copy)

(4)Physical examination form, Certificate of COVID-19vaccination (original and copy);

(5) No criminal record certificate legalized by the Chinese Embassy or Consulate-General (original and copy);

(6) Birth certificate (original and copy);

(7) Letter of sponsorship and bank statement for the last six months;

(8) Other documents.

IV. Visa applications for short-term study (less than 180 days) are still suspended.

V. From August 24th, 2022, holders of valid APEC Business Travel Cards or study residence permits will be allowed to enter China.
