Learning Chinese has opened many opportunities for me
Learning Chinese becomes a lot easy when you are living in the the targeted language environment. My name is Almon Gotora and I graduated last year from the university of Zimbabwe. I enrolled at the university of Zimbabwe in 2019 majoring in English and Chinese. Learning Chinese has opened many opportunities for me because on my final year I applied for Scholarships and I managed to get different scholarships which includes the CangJie whereby my tuition for my final year was covered by that scholarship.
How did I get to the campus
As of last year after finishing my degree at the University of Zimbabwe I managed to get a Chinese Government Scholarship and I decided to major in Chinese language at Tianjin University. I came to China late last year in November and it was in a winter season. The temperature was around -20 degrees Celsius, it was very cold to the extent that I could not feel my hands. The airport was very big and I could not find the exist gate to go out and get a taxi to go to school. I approached a Chinese security guard who was a little bit old. I greeted him and he responded very fast. I asked him where the gate was and he helped me up until I boarded a taxi.
Learning Chinese in China makes the learning process very easy
When I arrived at school we then started learning Chinese. In our class we got people from Thailand, Korea and Cameroon. Learning Chinese in China makes the learning process very easy because we will be using Chinese language in everyday life. For example, the lessons are taught in Chinese, when you go to the market, shopping, taking a tax, to the gym and everywhere you go you will be communicating in Chinese, thus the learning process becomes easy. I also got a chance to explore China by going the the great wall and this was a great experience for me as I got to see the magnificent great wall of China which we heard about when we were growing up. Recently in China there was a holiday called 五一假期 and I went to Beijing to have fun. In Beijing I managed to visit the CCTV tower and the picture will be displayed below. I also managed to visit the ChaoYang park where i saw the pandas and other animals.
Learning Chinese in China is great and fun at the same time as we will be learning and enjoying at the same time.
