SICAS Welcomes a Student from Uganda During China's National Day Holiday
Oct,10 2026
During China's National Day holiday, SICAS has welcomed a female student from Uganda who has come to China to study Chinese. Our team has assisted her with airport pick-up and accommodation arrangements, and she completed her university registration on 8 October.
For international students, arriving in China is an important moment after preparing for their studies and completing the application process. However, travelling to a new country also involves practical arrangements. Students need to reach their accommodation, become familiar with their new surroundings and complete the necessary procedures before settling into their studies.
The SICAS team has helped the student with these initial arrangements, supporting her transition from arriving in China to beginning her student life here.
Supporting Students After Arrival
Preparing to study in China involves more than choosing a university and submitting an application. Students also need to prepare for their arrival and understand the procedures that they will need to complete after reaching China.
For students who are travelling from overseas for the first time, airport pick-up can make it easier to reach their next destination after a long journey. Assistance with accommodation can also help them settle into their new surroundings, while university registration is an important step towards beginning their studies.
In this case, SICAS has provided arrival support for the student from Uganda, and she completed her university registration on 8 October. This marks an important step in her journey to study Chinese in China.
Students who are preparing to come to China can also read our guide to arriving in China, which covers airport pick-up, university registration, accommodation and other important arrangements.
We understand that the first few days in a new country can involve many unfamiliar arrangements. By helping students with these practical matters, SICAS aims to make the transition to studying and living in China easier to manage.

Beginning a New Chapter in China
Studying Chinese in China gives international students the opportunity to learn the language in an environment where they can also experience everyday life and culture. For students who have travelled from overseas, settling in and completing registration are among the first steps towards this experience.
The student from Uganda has now completed her university registration and has begun the next stage of her study journey. We wish her every success with her Chinese language studies and hope that her time in China will be both rewarding and enjoyable.
To respect her privacy, we have not disclosed the student's name or the name of her university. Her face has also been obscured in the accompanying photograph.
Students who are planning to learn Chinese in China can explore study programmes on the SICAS website and compare their options before applying.
SICAS Has Resumed Work After the National Day Holiday
China's National Day holiday is a major holiday period each year. While the holiday provides time for rest and travel, international students may still need assistance with their arrival and study arrangements during this period.
SICAS has now resumed work after the National Day holiday. Our team continues to support international students who are exploring study opportunities in China and preparing for their applications, arrival and university registration.
For students who are planning to study in China, preparing for arrival is an important part of the overall process. Having clear information about university requirements and the steps involved can help students prepare for their studies with greater confidence.
This arrival during the National Day holiday is one example of the practical assistance that international students may need when they begin their studies in China. We are pleased to have supported this student from Uganda as she has taken this important step.
