The Chinese Government Scholarship "High-level Graduate Students" program is a full scholarship program funded by the Ministry of Education of China, which is used by some Chinese universities to independently recruit outstanding international students to study for master's and doctoral degrees in China.


Eligibility

1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and in good health.

2. Educational background and age requirements:

Applicants for master's degree programs should have a bachelor's degree or equivalent academic ability, excellent academic performance, and generally be no more than 35 years old;

Applicants for doctoral degree programs should have a master's degree or equivalent, excellent academic performance, and generally be no more than 40 years old.

3. All majors are taught Chinese, and the Chinese level must reach HSK level 4 or above.

4. Applicants should meet the admission requirements of the university in terms of academic ability, language ability and other related aspects.


Scholarship Type and Duration

1. Funding category: master's students and doctoral students.

2. Duration of funding: 3 years for master's and doctoral students.


Scholarship Coverage

1. Free tuition.

2. Accommodation fee is waived.

3. Provide living expenses during the period in China (3,000 yuan/month for master's students and 3,500 yuan/month for doctoral students).

4. Provide comprehensive medical insurance for international students in China.


Application Guide

Applicants log in to the "Study in China" website ("Study in China" website link: http://www.campuschina.org), click the icon of "Chinese Government Scholarship Management Information System for Study in China" to enter the application system, click the [Student Registration] button to register an account, fill in the application information, and submit the "Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form" online.

Application Materials

1. Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (filled in Chinese or English).

2. The first page of your passport. If the validity period of your current passport does not meet the requirements (the passport should be valid later than September 2024), please renew your passport in time.

3. Notarized certificate of the highest academic qualification. If the applicant is a current student, he/she must submit a certificate of expected graduation or proof of enrollment issued by the school he or she is attending.

4. Academic transcripts (from undergraduate level). Scanned copies of transcripts should include the results of the undergraduate, master's (if any), doctoral (if any) study stage up to the most recent semester. Transcripts should be issued and stamped by the Academic Affairs Office, Graduate School, or relevant student administration department of the school where they are attending. Transcripts in Chinese/English can be provided, and if they are in a foreign language other than English, an English translation and notarization are required.

5. Proof of language proficiency. Applicants applying for Chinese as the professional language of instruction must provide an HSK score report within the validity period that meets the corresponding Chinese proficiency requirements. Applicants applying for a foreign language as their professional language of instruction should provide corresponding proof of language proficiency, such as IELTS or TOEFL scores, as required by the school.

6. Pre-admission materials (after passing the school's qualification review and assessment, you will get the pre-admission notice issued by the school).

7. Study plan in China. A study plan (more than 1000 words) should be submitted in Chinese/English, and the doctoral student must be signed by the Chinese supervisor, and the study plan can only be written in Chinese or English.

8. Letters of recommendation. Submit recommendation letters from two professors or associate professors, the content of which should focus on the applicant's study objectives in China, the cooperation between the Chinese institution or the Chinese supervisor and the foreign tutor or the inter-school exchange, as well as the evaluation of the student's comprehensive ability and future development, which can only be written in Chinese or English.

9. Personal works. Applicants for art, design and other majors can upload personal works (such as images, paintings, etc.) through "Works/Other Supporting Materials", or provide them in other ways according to the requirements of the applicant institution.

10. Applicants under the age of 18 must submit relevant legal documents from their legal guardians in China.

11. A copy of the Foreigner's Physical Examination Form (the original copy shall be kept by yourself, and this form shall be uniformly printed by the Chinese Health and Quarantine Department and must be filled in English). Applicants should be examined in strict accordance with the items required in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. The Foreigner Physical Examination Form is invalid if it is missing, does not have a photograph of the applicant, or does not have a seal on the photo, and is not signed and stamped by a physician or hospital, and the test result is valid for 6 months.

12. Certificate of no criminal record. Applicants are required to submit a valid certificate of no criminal record issued by the local public security authority, which should normally be within 6 months before the date of submission of the application.

Note:

All approvals need to be uploaded and filled in through the system, and there is no need to mail paper materials. The materials uploaded must be clear and complete. Applicants are advised to use professional equipment to scan the relevant documents to be submitted, and the consequences caused by unclear or unrecognizable uploaded materials shall be borne by the applicant.

Application Procedure

1. The school will review the applicant's application materials, preliminarily determine the recommended candidates and issue a pre-admission notice.

2. After receiving the pre-admission notice, the recommender must log in to the system to complete the personal online application of the Chinese Government Scholarship Management Information System for Studying in China, and the application materials must include the pre-admission notice issued by our university.

3. The school will determine the final recommended candidates and submit their materials to the China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as the China Scholarship Council).

4. The Committee will organize subject experts to review the candidates recommended by the school, and those who pass the review will issue admission materials and send them back to the school.

5. The university will announce the list of scholarship winners, and mail the "Admission Notice" and "Visa Application Form for Study in China" (JW201 form) to the scholarship winners.


Warm Tips

1. The online information filled in by the applicant should be true, accurate, complete and valid. If the review, admission and enrollment are affected by mistake, omission or false or invalid information, all adverse consequences and responsibilities shall be borne by the applicant.

2. The final admission is subject to the official admission letter sent by Dalian Jiaotong University.

3. Our school does not entrust any individual or intermediary to recruit Chinese Government Scholarship students. For scholarship applications, please contact us directly.

4. If you are awarded the scholarship, you must bring the original of all the above materials (if you provide a pre-graduation certificate, you must bring the original official graduation certificate) for on-site inspection.

5. If the Chinese Government Scholarship students fail to register within the time limit or fail to pass the entrance physical examination, the scholarship qualification will be cancelled, and the students will be managed according to the relevant regulations of the Chinese Government Scholarship after admission.

6. Chinese Government Scholarship students are not allowed to enjoy other scholarships (excluding all kinds of one-time awards) established by Chinese governments at all levels and admitted institutions at the same time, and their Chinese Government Scholarship qualifications will be cancelled and the Chinese Government Scholarship will be refunded. For those who deliberately conceal the financial support, they are not allowed to apply for the Chinese Government Scholarship within three years, except for disqualification.

7. Scholarship winners are required to participate in the annual evaluation of the scholarship as required. Those who do not participate in the evaluation or fail to pass the evaluation will be suspended or disqualified from enjoying the scholarship.
