Sichuan University is a leading research-oriented university in western China, recognized as a category-A institution in the Double First-Class Initiative of China. I. Objectives of Program

To produce internationally competent clinicians with solid medical knowledge, excellent clinical skills and good professionalism.

 

II. Requirements of Program

1.Teaching of medical knowledge will be based on solid scientific principles and enable students to develop lifelong learning habits, corresponding clinical skills and appropriate professional ethics.

2.Education will not only focus on the basic principles of medical science and clinical skills, but also develop students’ analytical skills and their ability to make sound judgments based on evidence and experience.

3.The students will engage in effective medical internships under the guidance of senior physicians before graduation.

I. Objectives of Program

The program provides the graduates with the necessary grounding in both theoretical and clinical aspects of dentistry, prepares them to be future dental professionals with outstanding dental skills and high ethical standards, with pioneer spirit and innovative consciousness, with international vision and cross-cultural competence.

 

II. Requirements of Program

Students are expected to have acquired competences in the following domains:

1.Knowledge Base: master the basic theories and concepts of Basic & Clinical Medicine.

2.Professionalism: master basic theoretical and practical skills of all dental specialties.  

3.Legal Awareness: Familiar with China’s national healthcare policies and regulations.

4.Information Retrieval: able to identify, gather and analyse primary data and source material in medical research.

5.Chinese Proficiency: Able to use the language fluently and accurately. Able to read all styles and forms of the language pertinent to professional needs.

6.Basic Computer Skills

7.Lifelong Learning Skills: creativity and critical thinking, decision-making and problem-solving.

I. Objectives of Program

The Civil Engineering Program educates and prepares students to succeed in the civil engineering profession by providing them with essential theories, knowledge and engineer skills which will enable them to adapt to economic globalization. The graduate will be able to begin a career in the fields of practice in civil engineering, such as design, construction, and engineering management, to perform design, research, construction, education, management or investment in various companies, or in governmental agencies involved in areas of building, transportation, bridge, tunnel and mine construction.

 

II. Requirements of Program

1.Graduates will have the basic knowledge and literacy of humanities and social sciences. They will be provided with the knowledge of literature, art, ethics, history, sociology and public relations by the advantage of multi-disciplinary in Sichuan University.

2.Graduates will be built on a strong base in mathematics, physical sciences, chemistry, and be awareness of the application and development of the modern natural science.

3.Graduates will be prepared for the core knowledge of civil engineering including engineering mechanics, fluid mechanics, structural and geotechnical engineering, engineering material, structural analysis and design, foundation treatment, construction technology and management, engineering survey, structural test skills.

4.Graduates will be able to access to information and process data with the various facilities, and have the necessary written, graphical, and oral communication skills.

5.Graduates will be prepared for practical engineering designs, constructions and managements, and be able to apply the principles of civil engineering to solve practical problems.

I. Objectives of Program

Software engineering program is aimed to cultivate the national IT industry pillars and social elites with solid Chinese culture background, extensive general knowledge in software engineering, strong innovation awareness and innovative skills in the IT field and a broad global perspective. In order to promote students' development in ethics, intelligence, athletics, aesthetics and work, this program is focused on cultivating students' capacities of independent thinking, innovation and entrepreneurship, teamwork and social responsibility. By expanding knowledge in the field of software engineering, students are able to integrate the basic methods, tools, and processes of software engineering. Students can gain an in-depth understanding and solutions to the large-scale and complex issues or problems in software engineering through engineering practices and mentors’ project experience. Graduates are qualified for the intermediate or senior positions in both technology and administration in government, enterprises, institutions and other organizations, or they can prepare for further graduate studies.

I. Objectives of Program

The undergraduate program of Tourism Management aims to educate and prepare students for succeeding in the tourism and hotel management areas by providing them with essential theories, knowledge and professional skills, which will enable students to adapt to the current and future professions in tourism against the milieu of economic globalization and cross-cultural communications. Students will have opportunities to develop, promote, and deliver events, design and market tourist facilities and attractions, and engage in and evaluate hospitality encounters. Contemporary issues such as sustainability, innovation and customer service will be explored on local, regional and global levels. The TM program blends cutting-edge research and theory with practical exercises to develop students’ managerial abilities and business acumen.

 

II. Requirements of Program

Upon successful completion of this course it is expected that students should be able to:

1.acquire bilingual (English and Mandarin) and cross-cultural communication skills;

2.articulate an in-depth understanding of tourism theory and practice in a global setting;

3.apply a familiarity with critical skills and techniques to develop best practice policy and planning for international tourism and hotel management in diverse enterprises;

Eligibility

1. Applicants (at least 18 years old; under 25 years old in principle) must be non-Chinese citizens with good physical and mental health and holding valid foreign passports in accordance with Nationality Law of the People’s Republic of China.

2. For applicants who were Chinese citizens and are now foreign citizens, their applications will be handled in accordance with the Notice on Standardizing Acceptance of International Students at Chinese Higher Education Institutions by the Ministry of Education.

3. Applicants must have a high school degree in minimum with good academic records.

4. Language proficiency requirements:

For Majors taught in English

①Applicants who are native speakers of English are exempt from English proficiency certificates.

②Applicants who are not native speakers of English must provide a TOEFL certificate (scored 80 or above), or IELTS certificate (scored 6.0 or above), or other certificates demonstrating an equivalent level of English proficiency;

③Applicants who are not native speakers of English but acquired their highest degree through a program taught in English can provide, instead of an IELTS/TOEFL certificate, a certificate demonstrating the program was taught in Chinese.


Application Documents

1. A photocopy of the first page of the passport (at least six months before expiration from the date of application). Applicants currently living in Chinese mainland need to provide a photocopy of valid visa page or residence permit;

2. High school graduation certificate or pre-graduation certificate (sealed by the school). Applicants applying with a pre-graduation certificate must denote the graduation date;

3. Applicants who are living in China and have records of studying in China need to provide the document illustrating their performance at school issued by their previous Chinese schools;

4. High school academic transcripts (sealed by the school);

5. Chinese/English personal statement (Applicants applying for programs taught in English must write their personal statements in English. A personal statement should include such content as self-introduction, reasons for application, understanding of the major, and study plan.);

6. Language proficiency certificates;

7. Foreigner Physical Examination Form (The examination results should be no more than 6 months from the date of application);

8. Applicants need to provide documents demonstrating their funding sources (or financial guarantee by the guardian). Applicants applying for full scholarships are exempt from such documents;

9. Non-Criminal Record Certificate. Applicants should provide a Non-Criminal Record Certificate issued by the local public security authority, which should be no more than six months before the date of application.

10. Award certificates or other supporting documents.

Note:

1. Applicants should ensure the authenticity and accuracy of all documents submitted. All documents should be uploaded in the form of electronic files. Monolingual documents should be attached with official Chinese or English translations.

2. Sichuan University will not handle incomplete applications; Sichuan University may require applicants to submit additional documents when necessary.

Sichuan University provides dormitories for international students in Wangjiang, Huaxi, and Jiang’an campuses. Due to the limited amount of rooms, students admitted by Sichuan University should file an application for on-campus dormitories.
