Admission Notice: CPU 2024 CSC High-level Postgraduate Program

CPU Program Introduction

Chinese Government Scholarship-High-level Postgraduate Program is a full scholarship established by the Ministry of Education, P.R.C. to support designated Chinese universities to enroll outstanding international students for graduate studies in China.


Appliction Process

1. Applicants should complete an online application on the CPU Application Platform and upload the application documents listed below to the CPU Application Platform. November 1 to February 15, 2024.

2. CPU Initial Review and Interview: 

February or March, 2024;

*The interview schedule will be sent to the application email. Please check your email in time. Applicants who fail to attend the interview are deemed to be giving up the application.

3. CPU will issue the pre-acceptance letter to applicants who pass the CPU interview. Applicants need to submit all application documents and the pre-acceptance letter to the CSC Application Platform (https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn);

Students who are nominated for the Chinese Government Scholarship-High-level Postgraduate Program need to log in to the CSC application platform within the specified time to submit the scholarship application (http://www.csc.edu.cn/laihua/) 

*The Agency Number for China Pharmaceutical University is 10316; *Choose Program Category Type B.

4. China Scholarship Council Review: 

CPU will deliver materials of applicants who pass the CPU initial review to CSC and wait for the final admission results;

5. Result Release: 

CPU will announce the admission result officially on the website or through email;

6. Registration: September, 2024

(1) If any of the above information is not fully explained, the official guidance released on the website of the Chinese Government Scholarship shall prevail.

Application Duration

November 1, 2023 to February 15, 2024.


Eligibility

To be eligible, an applicant must:

1. be a citizen of a country other than the PRC and in good health both mentally and physically;

2. be an academically excellent holder of a bachelor’s degree under the age of 35 when applying for a master’s program;

3. be an academically excellent holder of a master’s degree under the age of 40 when applying for a doctoral program;

4. have passed the HSK (Level 4) when applying for a Chinese-taught postgraduate program;

5. have TOEFL 90+ or IELTS 6.5+ when applying for an English-taught postgraduate program ( for non-native English speakers);

6. meet the university's admission requirements in terms of academic ability and other relevant criteria.


Application Materials

1. Copy of Passport Home Page. If the validity of the applicant’s current passport does not meet the requirement (meaning the passport expires before September 2024), please apply for a new passport before submitting the application;

2. Notarized the highest diploma. Prospective diploma winners must submit official proof of student status to their current school. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations;

3. Academic transcripts (from the undergraduate program onwards). Copies of academic records from the first to last semester during the undergraduate, graduate (if any), and doctoral programs (if any) shall be provided. These transcripts shall be issued and sealed by the attending university’s academic affairs office, graduate school, or student management department. They can be in Chinese or English but must be attached with notarized English translations if they are in foreign languages other than English;

4. Language qualification certificates. Applicants for Chinese-taught programs must submit valid HSK (Level 4). Applicants for English-taught programs must submit a valid English proficiency certificate (TOEFL 90+ /IELTS 6.5+) if they are from non-English speaking countries.

5. A study plan proposal. A study plan written in Chinese or English shall contain more than 1,000 characters or words; the proposal of a doctoral student shall be signed by the applicant’s Chinese supervisor;

6. Recommendation letters. Two letters of recommendation (written only in Chinese or English) from professors or associate professors shall be submitted. These letters shall describe the applicant’s objectives of learning in China, comprehensive abilities, and evaluation of future growth, as well as the cooperation between the supervisors or the exchange between universities both in China and abroad;

7. A photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed in English (the original copy shall be kept by the applicant). The form is designed by the Chinese quarantine authority and can be obtained from the dispatching authority. The physical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Please select the appropriate time to take a physical examination, as the result is valid for only 6 months.

8. Non-criminal record report. The applicant shall submit a valid certificate of Non-Criminal Record issued by the local public security authority, usually issued within 6 months before the submission date of the application.

9. Provisional acceptance letter issued by CPU professors.

Uploaded supporting documents must be clear, authentic and valid. Applicants are recommended to use a professional device to scan the relevant documents. Applicants shall bear the consequences caused by unclear or unidentifiable uploaded materials.
