Chinese Government Scholarship TYPE A— Bilateral Program

In order to promote the mutual understanding between China and other countries, the Chinese government has set up Chinese Government Scholarship to provide full scholarships and partial scholarship to international students. China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as CSC), entrusted by the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as MOE), is responsible for the enrollment and administration of Chinese Government Scholarship programs.

Applicants shall apply to the dispatching authorities for overseas study in their home countries or the Chinese Embassy. Generally the application period is from November to April; however, it varies in different countries. Therefore, please confirm the specific date before application.

Chinese Government Scholarship TYPE B— Postgraduate Program & Silk Road Program

Type B should be applied to university in the online system directly, and doesnot need pre admission.

Duration and Values of Scholarship

Tuition fee, Accommodation, Living allowance, Insurance

Master Degree：2 or 3 years

Doctoral Degree：4 years

Elementary Chinese course: 1 year (Applicants who apply for Chinese-medium programs are required to take elementary Chinese course, if their Chinese is not qualified.)

Criteria & Eligibility

1, Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health.

2, Education background and age limit:

Applicants for master degree must have bachelor degree and be under the age of 35.

Applicants for doctoral degree must have master degree and be under the age of 40.

3, Requirements of Language (Compulsory)

Chinese-Medium Programs: HSK4 (or above level).

English-Medium Programs (for applicants from Non-English Speaking Countries): IELTS 6 / TOEFL 80 / Official English Proficiency Certificate

Application Materials

Application documents must be the digital copy of Original or Notarized.

1,Degree Certificates in Chinese or English(Bachelor and Master).

Remark: Students expecting to graduate should provide an official letter stating expected graduation date, then submit the degree certificate later if admitted.

2, Transcripts in Chinese or English (Bachelor and Master) up to the present, including courses taken and standard achieved.

3, A Personal Statement in Chinese or English, above 1000 words for master, and above 1500 words for doctorate.

4, Two Recommendation Letters, including contacts, must be the Original in Chinese or English.

The referees should be professors or associate professors. At least one of them should have knowledge of your recent academic work.

5, Requirements of Language.

Chinese-Medium Programs: HSK5 for Master, HSK6 for Doctorate (if applicants provide HSK4, they shall study 1 year Elementary Chinese course.)

English-Medium Programs (for applicants from Non-English Speaking Countries): IELTS 6 / TOEFL 80 / Official English Proficiency Certificate

6, Photocopy of Passport (Ordinary Passport).

7, Health Certificate.

8, Letter of Financial Guarantee (Commitment).

9, Acceptance Letter from supervisor. (Optional)

10, Table of contents and abstracts of your academic publications and any other original achievement in your field.(Optional)

11、none criminal record

Admission Result

International student center will declare the result of successful candidates on the website at the end of June, then send out admission letters in July. Please fulfill the application form with detailed mail address and postal code or other receiving methods.
