I. ABOUT LIAOCHENG UNIVERSITY
Liaocheng University, a public university located in the renowned Water City of Liaocheng in east China’s most Confucian and prosperous Shandong province, has long been entitled to conferring to its students master and bachelor degrees on philosophy, economics, law, pedagogy, literature, history, sciences, engineering, agronomy, management, art, and medicine. Presently within the university are 25 schools and 9 research institutes that cover 79 bachelor degree programs and 40 master degree programs. Chemistry, Engineering, Materials Science, and Computer Science of the university are amongst the top 1% of ESI ranking. Highlighted with the prestige of state and/or provincial-level key labs, research centers, disciplines, specialties/courses, teaching excellence and research achievement awards, and scientific research programs, the university takes great pride in its 1,800 faculty members and 34,000 full-time bachelor, master degree students and international students. The university is well acknowledged home and abroad for its Research Center for Pacific Island Countries, Arctic Studies Center, and Canal Studies Institute. Liaocheng University highly values and actively promotes international cooperation and exchange with its 60 global partner universities/institutions across 20 countries/regions on such programs as staff and student exchange, joint scientific research, immersion programs on culture and society, and joint international student education (degree and non-degree programs). The university co-established Confucius Institutes with Philadelphia University of Jordan and The National University of Samoa.
II. LIAOCHENG MUNICIPALITY
Liaocheng Municipality, where Liaocheng University is located, covers an area of 8,715 square kilometers over a population of over 6 million. Meeting at the city are Beijing-Kowloon Railway from north to south and Qingdao-Jinan-Handan Railway from east to west, coupled with national expressway network and the forthcoming airport and national bullet train network, hence an important transportation hub in China. With a history of more than 5,000 years, Liaocheng is characterized with the blending of different cultures and civilizations: Longshan Culture representing pre-historic civilization of China, Confucianism representing traditional Chinese ethics and philosophies, Canal Culture representing business civilization, and Yellow River 12 12 / 26 Culture representing the agricultural civilization in China. The blending of different cultures and civilizations blesses the city with unique local and cultural features, abundant historic relics and tourist resources, and a fast-developing local economy. III. PRIORITIES AND FEATURES OF INTERNATIONAL STUDENT EDUCATION AT LIAOCHENG UNIVERSITY

IV. ELIGIBILITY AND APPLICATION PROCEDURES
l . Eligibility 1.1 Basic Eligibility Foreign citizens, in good physical and mental health, and awarded a certificate of graduation from high school (Non-Degree programs are open to high school students).
1.2 Academic performance Outstanding academic performance is requested. Proof should be provided through (but not limited to) the following document(s):
1.2.1 High school/University (if applicable) transcripts (in Chinese or English).
1.2.2 Certificate of National/Regional Graduation Examination or Matriculation Examination.
1.2.3 Results of international standard tests (e.g., SAT/ACT/A-Level/AP/IB/others). I. 2.4 Other supporting materials.
2. Language proficiency
2.1 Chinese language proficiency requirements are as stated above, but applicants on bachelor degree programs taught in English language must pass HSK-4 (180 points) or above prior to graduation at Liaocheng University.
2.2 Applicants whose native language is Chinese or who can provide proof of studying at a high school where the teaching language is Chinese can apply for HSK test waiver in the Online/Offline Application System for further 21 21 approval by Liaocheng University.
2.3 Good English language proficiency. For those whose native language is not English, please provide test report of English language test (e.g., TOEFL/IELTS/others).
3. Others
3.1 Aged 18 or above (by date of application, for degree program applicants). Applicants under 18 to non-degree programs should produce relevant supporting documents to Liaocheng University (Agreement of parents or other legal guardians, for instance).
3.2 For those who have given up their original Chinese citizenship and become foreign citizens, the citizenship conditions should meet the latest requirement of Ministry of Education of China.
V. APPLICATION PROCEDURES 1. Online/Offline Application
1.1 Create your account in the Online Application System available at
1.2 Complete the application forms, or contact admissions officer whose contact information you may find at bottom of this brochure. Application should be processed during the application periods.
1.3 Upload all materials as required on Online Application System, or send 22 22 by email the documents as required to admissions officer.
1.4 Pay the application fee (300 RMB yuan) online or pay when arriving at Liaocheng University to complete your application.
1.5 Application can also be processed at Chinese Embassy/Consulate, Confucius Institute(s), Chinese Department in universities, or other accredited organizations.
2. Comprehensive Evaluation and Application Review
2.1 Applications submitted with all the information correct and complete will be evaluated by Liaocheng University.
2.2 Integrative Test/Interview
2.2.1 Applicants whose application materials have passed the Application Review will be admitted to the Integrative test/interview. The method and time of the Integrative test/interview will be informed in advance.
2.2.2 Integrative Test/interview may be held at Chinese Embassy/Consulate, Confucius Institute(s), Chinese Department in universities, other accredited organizations, or directly with Liaocheng University Admissions Officer online.
2.2.3 Applicants who apply for certain programs may be asked for extra tests or documents for second review.
2.2.4 Outstanding applicants recognized by Liaocheng University may have the integrative test/interview waived and get an offer directly.
3. Admission Decision and Offer 23 23 The admission decision is based on a comprehensive evaluation of academic performance, language ability, supporting materials, as well as Integrative test/interview (if applicable).
4. Schedule
4.1 Online/offline application is terminated by end of each May or November, or 2 months ahead of final admission for applicants to respective programs.
4.2 Admission materials/final offer is sent by regular mail to applicants or recommendation/sponsor organizations in each July or December, and applicants apply for Chinese visa at local Chinese Embassy/Consulate, and arrive at Liaocheng University on time specified in admission materials/final offer.
4.3 Liaocheng University offers conditional free pickup to new international students at Jinan International Airport, Jinan Railway Station, Jinan West Railway Station, Liaocheng Railway Station, or other destinations decided and clarified by Liaocheng University.
