About BIPT
Founded in 1978, Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology (BIPT) is a regular institution of higher education which takes engineering as its key discipline while integrating other disciplines including science, economics, management and arts, and shows distinctive feature of engineering practice. Growing out of the former Beijing Petrochemical School and the second branch of the Beijing Institute of Chemical Engineering, BIPT got its present name in 1992 and was led by Beijing Municipality in 2000 other than Sinopec Group back then. From then on, BIPT jointly trained postgraduate students with China University of Petroleum (Beijing), Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Beijing University of Technology and other universities. And it was added intothe plan of cultivating doctoral students by Beijing Municipality in 2018
In accordance with the document spirit of Beijing Interim Measures for the Administration of Scholarships for Foreign Students (2007) No. 11, Beijing Institute of Petroleum and Chemical Technology, in order to do a good job in the allocation and distribution of scholarships for foreign students in our university, and in combination with the actual situation of our university, we hereby formulate the Measures for the Administration and Implementation of Scholarships for Foreign Students in Beijing Institute of Petroleum and Chemical Technology.

Chapter I General provisions
Article 1 In order to strengthen the efficiency of the BEIJING GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP Program (BGS), encourage and help international students to study and live in China, and realize the purpose of awarding the scholarship, our university has formulated these measures.
Article 2 The scope of Beijing Scholarship for Foreign Students refers to the tuition fees (including living expenses) provided by foreign students who plan to study in or study in our university.
Chapter II Organization and implementation
Article 3 Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology shall form a leading group for the construction of the Scholarship project for Foreign students in Beijing, which shall be responsible for the coordination, guidance, evaluation and issuance of the project. The Finance Department of Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology is responsible for supervising the use and management of the project funds.
Article 4 The Beijing International Student Scholarship Program is organized and implemented according to the project, and the project leader system is implemented. The project leader is Professor Ding Fushen, Dean of the School of International Education of our University.
Article 5 The implementation procedure of the Beijing Foreign Students Scholarship Program in our university is as follows: Every year, our university submits to the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of the Municipal Education Commission the report on the implementation of the scholarship in the previous year and the application report on the scholarship allocation plan for foreign students entering the autumn semester of the same year. Submit all materials according to the requirements of Beijing International Student Scholarship Program.
Chapter III Funds and management
Article 6 The funds for the Beijing Foreign Students Scholarship Program shall be supervised and managed by the Finance Department of Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology, and the School of International Education shall be responsible for the specific operation according to the implementation requirements of the program, and shall be reviewed and issued at the beginning of each semester.
Article 7 The funds of the Beijing Foreign Students Scholarship Program are mainly used to pay the tuition fees and part of the living expenses of the foreign students who have obtained the scholarship qualifications (the standards are referred to in the Beijing Measures for the Implementation of the Foreign Students Scholarship).

Article 8 These measures shall be interpreted by the School of International Education and the Finance Department of Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology.
Article 9 These Measures shall go into effect as of the date of issuance.
Measures for the implementation of scholarships for foreign students of Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology
The "BEIJING GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP" (BGS) is a special fund provided by the Beijing Municipal People's Government to provide tuition assistance to foreign students studying in Beijing and universities in Beijing. The specific implementation measures of this scholarship are as follows:
I. Object and time limit
(1) For outstanding students pursuing a degree, the duration is generally not more than 4 academic years;
(2) Study Chinese language or advanced students, the term is not more than 1 academic year;
(3) For outstanding students and scholars specializing in research and training, the term shall not exceed one academic year.
(4) Students who have been punished for disciplinary violations during the academic year will not enjoy the scholarship.
2. Scholarship amount
In principle, the scholarship only covers tuition fees. In special cases, it can be used as part of the living allowance for foreign students and as a reward for participating in cultural and sports activities and social welfare. The award criteria are as follows:
(1) Scholarship for Master students: 23,000-25,000 RMB/person/academic year.
It is generally offered to outstanding students who come to Beijing to pursue a master's degree.
(2) Undergraduate scholarship 18,000-20,000 RMB/person/academic year.
It is generally offered to outstanding students who come to Beijing to study for a bachelor's degree.
(C) Undergraduate preparatory students or long-term language students scholarship 10,000-20,000 yuan/person/academic year.
Usually come to Beijing outstanding preparatory students or long-term language students.
(4) All foreign students scholarship 500-5000 RMB/person/academic year.
It is generally provided to students with special difficulties in life and excellent students who actively participate in various cultural exchange activities of our school.
3. Applicant qualifications
(1) The applicant must be a non-Chinese citizen in good health;
(2) Educational background and age requirements of the applicant:
1. Applicants for bachelor's degree must have a high school diploma or above, and the age is not more than 30 years old; Those who study for a master's degree must have a college degree or above and be under the age of 35. Candidates for doctoral degree must have a master's degree or above and be under the age of 40.
2. Applicants for the relevant professional education must have a degree equivalent to a bachelor's degree or should be college students in the second year or above, and the age is not more than 50 years old; Long-term students applying for language learning should have a high school education or above, and the age is generally not more than 60 years old.
(3) The language requirements of applicants shall be subject to the annual Admissions Brochure of our school.
(4) Applicants who receive awards and grants from other organizations will no longer enjoy the Beijing Scholarship for foreign students.
4. Application channels, application time and application materials
(1) Application channels

(2) Application time
All application materials should be submitted to the International Student Office of Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology before the beginning of each year.
(3) Application materials (All materials should be provided in Chinese or English)
The applicant must truthfully fill in and submit the application materials:
1. Notarized certificate of highest academic qualification and academic transcript;
2. Students who have studied for more than 6 months (including 6 months) are required to present the "Physical Examination Record for Foreigners" (printed by the Chinese health and quarantine department);
3. Students studying for a degree or Chinese language should provide a study plan (no less than 400 words);
5. Scholarship approval and review
(1) The School of International Education will review the application materials and submit the list of awarded foreign students to the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of Beijing Municipal Education Commission.
(2) If the applicant's conditions do not meet the admission regulations or the application materials are incomplete, the application will be deemed invalid and will not be accepted.
(3) According to the final examination results of the spring semester and the total score of the school's comprehensive performance, the total score is composed of 60% of the academic performance and 40% of the school performance, according to the ranking of the first prize, second prize, third prize, excellence award and encouragement award, in the autumn of each year to give different degrees of rewards.
(4) The scholarship will be revoked if the scholarship student violates Chinese laws, violates university discipline and does not meet the relevant regulations of Beijing Scholarship for foreign students during the study period..
