2024-2025 International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship-Zhejiang University of Technology has begun!
For the purpose of satisfying the growing demand of the international community for Chinese language teachers and facilitating Chinese language education in other countries, the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) will continue with the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship. As one of the acceptance institutions, Zhejiang University of Technology welcome outstanding students and currently-employed Chinese language teachers to apply for our university to study.
Scholarship Eligibility
1. Non-Chinese citizens.
2. Should be friendly to China, have no criminal record, and abide by the laws and regulations of the Chinese government and the rules and regulations of the school.
3. Be in good physical and mental conditions and with good academic performance and conduct.
4. Aspiring to work in the Chinese language education and related fields.
5. Aged between 16 and 35 (as of September 1st, 2023 with the special allowance for the
age limit of 45 for applicants currently working as Chinese language teachers
Scholarship Category
One-Semester
Commence in March 2024. Scholarship is subsidized for maximum 5 months. Applicants holding the X1 or X2 visa are not eligible.
For the area of International Chinese education or Chinese Language and Literature: applicants shall have a minimum score of 180 on the HSK test (Level 3), and an HSKK test score is required.
For the area of Taiji Culture: applicants are required to provide HSK test scores. Priority will be given to applicants who also provide HSKK test scores.
Coverage and Standard
The scholarship supports tuition, accommodation, living allowance and comprehensive medical insurance.
ZJUT uses the tuition fees for the education and management of scholarship recipients, cultural programming. The scholarships for online programs provide support for tuition fees only。
ZJUT uses the accommodation fees to provide scholarship recipients with free on-campus accommodation. Scholarship recipients may live off-campus upon application and approval from ZJUT. Under such circumstances, students are entitled to an accommodation allowance of RMB 700 per person/month paid by ZJUT.
The living allowance is paid to the scholarship recipients by ZJUT monthly. Monthly allowance for one-year study program students and one-semester study program students is RMB 2,500 per person;
The comprehensive medical insurance is purchased by ZJUT in accordance with applicable regulations on overseas students stipulated by the Ministry of Education of China. The insurance premium for one-semester study program students is RMB 400 CNY per person.
Application Materials
1. A scanned copy of the passport photo page;
2. A scanned copy of score reports of the HSK/HSKK tests (within the two-year validity);
3. A reference letter by the head of the Recommending Institution.
4. Foreigner Physical Examination Form(within 6 months)
5. Non-criminal Record(within 3 months)

Application Procedure
From October 1, 2023, applicants can log on to the online application system of Zhejiang University of Technology to submit application materials.
After passing the review, our school will send the recommendation letter through the application system of Zhejiang University of Technology;
Applicants should download the letter of recommendation and submit the application materials from CIS website: www.cis.chinese.cn.
After completing the application, applicants can log on to the CIS website to follow the application process, review comments and scholarship evaluation results;
The admission result will be sent to the applicant's email address in January 2024.
Others
In-service Chinese language teachers may be exempted from HSK/HSKK certificates if they provide proof of employment and a letter of recommendation from the employer.
Applicants who have received the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship Certificate during Chinese Bridge competitions may submit their application documents along with their scholarship certificates to the Host Institutions directly at the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship website.
Students who fail to pass the pre-enrollment medical examination, withdraw from school before completing the program, fail to register at the university without prior permission, or suspend their studies will be disqualified for the scholarship.
Please ensure the application materials are real and effective, otherwise your admission will be cancelled.
