01 Who can apply
An applicant must:
1．be a non-Chinese citizen in physical and mental health.
2．be an academically excellent holder of a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent aged between 18 and 35 (by March 31, 2023) when applying for a master’s program;
be an academically excellent holder of a master’s degree or its equivalent aged between 18 and 40 (by March 31, 2023) when applying for a doctoral program.
3．not be holding any other scholarship in China.
02 Scholarship Content
Supporting Categories: It is only open to master’s and doctoral degree programs.
Admission Majors: All majors admitting international graduate students (Appendix 1)
Instruction Language: Chinese or English (shall subject to the published programs)
Language Requirements: Applicants for Chinese-taught programs should provide a valid Chinese language proficiency test (HSK) report (Level 4 or above), and those for English-taught programs should provide a valid English proficiency test certificate: IELTS 6.5 or above. Condition of exemption of submitting English proficiency certificate: English-speaking students from countries with English as native language or official language. Applicants whose previous degree programs were taught in English shall provide the relevant proof.
03 Application and Admission
Yangzhou University accepts applications for the Chinese Government Scholarship - High Level Graduate Student Program from November 1, 2022 to February 19, 2023. China Scholarship Council will decide the final list of scholarship winners.
04 Explanation of Funding
1.Students will be funded according to the category and duration of the Chinese Government Scholarship, and the application fee will be waived.
2.Other expenses incurred after registration, such as physical examination fee and residence permit application fee, which are not included in the subsidy, shall be charged by relevant departments according to the regulations.
3.Free on-campus double, triple or quad rooms are provided. Applicants for off-campus accommodation will be subsidized the off-campus accommodation fee according to the funding standard of Chinese Government Scholarship.
4.Chinese Government Scholarship students shall not be supported by other scholarships offered by Chinese government at all administrative levels or Chinese universities (one-time awards excluded). Once discovered, their Chinese Government Scholarship will be canceled, and they must return the stipends given. Those who intentionally conceal other scholarship supports will be disqualified for Chinese Government Scholarship application for 3 years in addition to the cancellation of Chinese Government Scholarship.
