        I. Brief Introduction 

Jilin University, founded in 1946, is a national key comprehensive university under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education in China, and among the first batch of “Project 985” and “Project 211” key universities. In 2017, it was rated as one of the first group of A-level “Double First-Class” universities. In 2022, six disciplines were listed in the second-round selection of “Double First-Class” universities and disciplines.


Jilin University offers a wide range of disciplines, covering 13 academic categories: philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, agriculture, medical science, management, art and inter-disciplines. The university has a complete high-level talent training system with bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs, and more than 70,000 students at the campus. It has nurtured over 600,000 alumni worldwide and ranks tenth in the number of outstanding alumni in Chinese universities. Its quality of high-level talent is widely recognized by both international and domestic communities. IV. Eligibility for Application

1. Applicants must be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China holding a valid foreign passport.

2. Applicants must be 18-30 years old, in good health both mentally and physically, with a high school diploma.


       


V. Application and Enrollment Review Process

Step 1: Applicants submit their applications online at the International Student Service System of Jilin University.

Applicants must submit application documents, including the passport’s first page, high school diploma, academic transcripts, language qualification certificates and the Foreigner Physical Examination Form by July 15, 2023.

Step 2: The College of International Education of Jilin University carries out a preliminary review.

The College of International Education will review the qualifications of the applicants according to enrollment requirements, focusing on academic background, language proficiency, identity qualifications, health status, etc., and consult the corresponding teaching and training units for a further review.

Step 3: The teaching and training units of Jilin University conduct a further review, remote interview or written test.

The teaching and training units will conduct a further review of the applicants’ academic performance, language proficiency, comprehensive quality, etc. and give feedback on the results to the College of International Education.

Step 4: The College of International Education notifies applicants of the enrollment results.





VI. Accommodation

The University has 7 international student dormitories with 1,026 rooms containing 1,710 beds. Dormitories are fully furnished to meet the needs of international students for study and living. Roommates are arranged in consideration of international students’programs, preferences and other factors.

       


VII. Registration

The date of registration is planned to be September 5-6, 2023. Please refer to the offer letter and registration instructions for specific requirements and matters.

List of Application Documents for International Students (Undergraduate)

1. Personal information page of the passport.

2. High school diploma. For fresh high school graduates, proof of expected graduation from the high school should be issued.

3. Transcripts of all high school courses.

4. A score of 180 points or above in HSK Level 4 is required for programs taught in Chinese.

★A score of above 180 points in HSK Level 5, and a score of above 550 points (PBT), 213 points (CBT), 79 points (IBT) in TOEFL or a score of above 6.0 in IELTS are required for the Chinese-taught Diplomacy program.

5. For programs taught in English, the applicants are required to do an English proficiency test organized by the teaching unit or submit an English proficiency score they already have.

★For the MBBS program taught in English, the following are required: above 70 points (IBT) in TOEFL with no less than 15 points in each section or above 6.0 in IELTS with no less than 5.0 in each section or other English proficiency scores; a score of above 70 or C-level in math, physics, chemistry and biology; and an interview organized by the College should be passed.

6. Applicants who have given up their original Chinese citizenship and joined foreign citizenship and both or one of whose parents haveChinese citizenship should submit: (1) proof of having joined foreign nationality for at least 4 years; (2) passport entry and exit records from April 30, 2019 to April 30, 2023.

7. Applicants under 18 by September 1, 2023 must submit: a letter of guarantee from a guardian, who must be an adult residing in Changchun.

8. Foreigner Physical Examination Form (This form is printed by the Chinese quarantine authority and must be completed in English). The applicant should complete each item of the examination in strict accordance with the requirements of the examination form. Incomplete records or those without a photograph of the applicants, without the signature of a doctor, or the official stamp of the hospital are invalid, and the examination results are valid for 6 months.

9. Certificate of deposit.

Notes:

1. All the above application documents must be in Chinese or English, and notarized translations of texts other than in Chinese or English must be provided.

2. The application fee is in principle non-refundable, regardless of the enrolment result.

3. Depending on the circumstances, the University may request additional documents or conduct an interview or written test with the applicant, details of which will be announced.

4. The size of the file to be uploaded to the system must be less than 1.5 MB, and the pictures uploaded should be clear, authentic and valid. Applicants are advised to use professional equipment to scan relevant documents to be submitted. Applicants are responsible for any consequences caused by unclear or unrecognizable documents.
