Courses load:20 teaching hours per week, 4 teaching hours each morning (8:30-11:50), Monday through Friday. Also available are elective courses such as Chinese Economy and Culture, Chinese Calligraphy, Taijiquan (shadow boxing) and Chinese Wushu. The minimum enrollment for each course is 20 students. These courses are taught in the afternoon.
Activities:Inner city tours are offered once a week. (scenic spots, museums, acrobatics etc.) Weekend tours are available at students’ own expense.
Duration:from July 8 to Aug 2; registration date is July 5

Tuition:RMB 3000 for 3 weeks, RMB 3700 for 4 weeks, RMB 4350 for 5 weeks, RMB 5000 for 6 weeks, RMB 5500 for 7 weeks, RMB 6000 for 8 weeks.
Group application is welcomed and the courses and schedules may be varied according to the group’s requirements. Please contact with the Office of International Student Affairs if you have any special requests.
Certificate of Study and Academic Record will be issued to those who have completed the short-term Chinese Language Program with qualified academic standing.
Applicant shall bring his Acceptance Letter, Form JW202 and passport to register with SISU at required time. Meanwhile, he is required to pay the tuition and fees. If one cannot register as required because of some problems, he has to inform the Office of International Student Affairs in advance. Those who are late without reason will be disqualified for enrollment.
About Shanghai International Studies University
Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) was founded in December 1949 as the former Shanghai Russian College. It later was named the Shanghai Foreign Language Institute and became a national key university approved by the State Council in 1963. Approved by the Ministry of Education in 1994, it was officially renamed as “Shanghai International Studies University”. In the same year, it was listed as one of the first colleges and universities jointly supervised by the national Ministry of Education and the Municipality of Shanghai. Now, SISU has two campuses in Hongkou and Songjiang. The Hongkou campus is located in the center of Shanghai, covering 16.9 hectares with elegant surroundings. The Songjiang campus is in Shanghai's Songjiang New District, covering an area of 53.3 hectares, with a picturesque environment.
At present, SISU has a full-time enrollment of over 1,400 postgraduate students, 6,000 undergraduates, 800 college students, and 1,200 international students. There are also 25,000 other types of registered students in various programs.
SISU has a faculty with significant academic prestige and educational experience. The full-time teachers number more than 500, including more than 300 professors and associate professors as well as a group of young and middle-aged outstanding lecturers.

Room Price
Double room: 65 RMB/person/day (70 RMB/person/day in case of less-than-three-month lodging);
Single room: 140 RMB/day.
Songjiang Campus
Introduction
A three-storey building built in 2001, is located on Songjiang Campus of SISU. Both double rooms and single rooms are available. Each room has an air-conditioner, a private bath, a telephone and a TV set.
Single room: RMB 100 per day.
