Every foreigner that has studied Chinese has heard the name “Beijing Language and Culture University.” This school’s fame comes from the fact that it is China’s only university specifically designed to teach foreigners Chinese language and culture. Cultivation directions: International Trade and Cross-Border Investment

• International Trade: To meet the national development needs, by utilizing resources from both the university and society, and combining classroom teachings with professional practices, this program aims at cultivating international business talents with sufficient knowledge of international trade theory, international trade practice skills and relevant laws and usual practices, strong English communication skills, who can adapt to the once-in-a-century challenging and complicated international economic, political, and cultural environment.

• Cross-border Investment: Combined with the advantages of the "Little United Nations" of BLCU, the program offers all courses in English, and provides an environment of  multicultural communication and comprehensive practices, to produce qualified talents that are familiar with international business rules, fluent in English  and capable  of cross-cultural communication, and that can engage in transnational operations and investment management in the complex international business environment, and deal with economic frictions, cultural conflicts, and investment risks  with ease.

Target of enrollment: International students with Chinese and foreign undergraduate degrees and equivalent academic qualifications from universities in the national education sequence.

3 Steps to Apply to a Chinese University

1.Applicants must be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, and be in good mental and physical health.

2.The requirements for applicants’ degree and age are that applicants must be a bachelor’s degree holder and no more than 35 years old when applying for the master’s programs.

3.Other kinds of Chinese Government Scholarships are not obtained at the same time.

4. Eligible Countries for Application: Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Mongolia, Georgia, Turkey, Italy, Indonesia, Thailand.

1.Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (in Chinese or English), please follow step 1 in Application Procedure to download the form and upload according to step 2 in Application Procedure;

2.Copy of Passport Home Page. If the validity of the applicant’s current passport does not meet the requirement (meaning the passport expires before March 2026), please apply for a new passport before submitting the application;

3.Notarized highest diploma (Bachelor or higher). Prospective diploma winners must submit official proof of student status by their current school. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations;

4.Academic transcripts (from the undergraduate program onwards). Copies of academic records from first to last semester during the undergraduate. They can be written in Chinese or English, but must be attached with notarized English translations if they are in foreign languages other than English;

5.English proficiency certificate: IELTS score of 6 (no less than 5.5 of each section)/TOEFL score of 90 or English native speaker;

6.A study plan proposal (written in English, no less than 1,000 words);

7.Recommendation letters. Two letters of recommendation from professors or associate professors shall be submitted. They can be written in Chinese or English, but must be attached with notarized English translations if they are in foreign languages other than English;

8.A photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed in English (the original copy shall be kept by the applicant). The form is designed by the Chinese quarantine authority and can be obtained from the dispatching authority. The physical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Please select the appropriate time to take a physical examination as the result is valid for only 6 months.

9.Non-criminal record report. The applicant shall submit a valid certificate of Non-Criminal Record issued by the local public security authority, usually issued within 6 months prior to the submission date of the application.

This program is open to applicants applying for master’s degree only. And the only applicable major is:

International Business (Taught in English; Length of Schooling: 2 years)

This program provides a full scholarship which covers tuition waiver, on-campus accommodation, comprehensive medical insurance and stipend (3,000 RMB/month for master’s degree).
