The school adheres to the principle of taking the discipline of traditional Chinese medicine as the main body, inheriting Chang'an medicine, empowering Qin medicinal resources, and innovating the development of Qin medicine, thus forming a distinctive, prominent and well-structured academic layout. The two first-level disciplines of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Chinese Pharmacology have outstanding advantages, and their comprehensive strength ranks at the forefront in the northwest region. Original and pioneering achievements such as the study of "Huangdi Neijing", acupuncture anesthesia, Fang's head acupuncture, and the syndrome treatment system of traditional Chinese medicine have gained worldwide recognition.
