Why study in HKUST
HKUST(GZ)adopts the collegiate system for its undergraduate education, where colleges and hubs collaborate with each other.
In line with the individualized approach, undergraduate teaching has been transformed from a traditional teaching model into an innovative modular one.
The "immersive teaching" and "group project-based learning" models reshape the teacher’s role from a traditional lecturer to an actual coach and mentor.
Under the Unified HKUST-Complementary Campuses framework, HKUST and HKUST(GZ) share resources with each other, such as laboratories, libraries, courses and teachers, etc.
HKUST(GZ) is actively recruiting top academic talents worldwide. There are 150 faculty members recruited before the opening of HKUST(GZ) in September 2022, and the plan to recruit 400 full-time faculty members and 200 postdoctoral fellows for the first phase (2022-2027) is progressing steadily and orderly.
In terms of faculty recruitment, HKUST(GZ)adopts the same academic standards and mechanism as HKUST, and the faculty members recruited are mostly from the top 30 universities worldwide. In addition, the same fundamental requirements for faculty members to foster virtue through education is strictly and effectively implemented as the Clear Water Bay Campus.
