Anhui University began to enroll international students in 1980. It was authorized by the Ministry of Education of the PRC to accept Scholarship students in 2000 and it was appointed to be the ‘Oversea Chinese Language Educational Base’ by the Oversea Affairs Office under the State Council in the same year. School of International Education of Anhui University was established in 2005. It was derived from the International Cultural Exchange Center of AHU, which was founded in 2000.
