Sino-Australia Joint NBA Program

Ningbo University is situated in Ningbo lying midway in the coastline of the East China Sea, facing north to Shanghai from across the Hangzhou Bay. MBBS and Business Administration, both taught in English, are major bachelor's degree programs available to International students. Why choose to study this program?

The joint MBA program between NBU and UC was started in 2001 upon the approval of the Ministry of Education of China. It is the only Chinese-foreign joint MBA program in Zhejiang Province, China. The program aims to train senior managerial professionals equipped with sound business management knowledge and capabilities as well as an international vision and pioneering spirit. Up to now, several hundreds of advanced managerial professionals have graduated from this program and been well recognized in the local society. 1. Students of non-English speaking countries meeting both of the following requirements can obtain the normal (standard) UC MBA degree, which is the same as that delivered on UC Australian campus:

(a) Achieve a result of IELTS 6.0 at least, or pass the UC English Language Test (3 chances at most) before the start of the second year.

(b) Successfully complete all the units of the MBA.

2. Students who do not satisfy the requirement for English proficiency but pass all the units, shall be awarded the UC MBA degree with an extra sentence on it- “Taught in English and Chinese”.

Academic Semesters

Students in this program will spend 2 years in Ningbo university, while each year is divided into 2 semesters.

First semester: from Sep to Jan, Second semester: from Feb to Jun.

Overview

Ningbo University is a dynamic, young and comprehensive university with a wide range of disciplines: economics, law, education, liberal arts, history, science, engineering, agronomy, medicine and management. It is one of the key institutions of higher learning of Zhejiang Province. Deng Xiaoping autographed the name of Ningbo University. Throughout its establishment and development, the University has been upheld by considerable donations and generous support from patriotic overseas Chinese such as Sir Yue-kong Pao, Sir Run-run Shaw, Sir Chao An Chung, Sir Hans Tang, Sir Yue-shu Pao, Sir Cao Guangbiao, Sir Li Dashan, Sir Zhu Xiushan, as well as from personages of various circles in the country. Mr. Cheng Gang, a standing member of Ningbo Municipal Committee of CPC, is concurrently Secretary of the Ningbo University Committee of CPC. Professor Nie Qiuhua holds the presidency of the university.

Location  

The University is located in the historical and cultural city of Ningbo of Zhejiang Province, bordering on the East China Sea. Ningbo has long been acclaimed as a thriving commercial port and a shining pearl near the East Sea, and it has gradually grown to be a major city in the Southern part of the Yangtze Delta and a key trading port in the East China. The University has five campuses, covering an area of over 160 hectares, with a floor space totaling 560,000 square meters. The main campus, adjacent to Ningzhen Road in the north and Yongjiang River in the south, offers wide space for study and research with magnificent buildings and pleasant lawns and greenery.

The university is featured by its emphasis on the development of academic disciplines. Centering on the local economic and social development, the university has adjusted and optimized the structure of disciplines, and this has resulted in its 13 provincial key academic disciplines and key assisted academic disciplines, 11 municipal key academic disciplines and key assisted academic disciplines, which bear distinct regional characteristics. The university has also made great advancements in scientific studies and social services. It has 2 provincial key laboratories, 12 municipal key laboratories, and 77 institutes. It has jointly established, with the local enterprises, 3 provincial and municipal engineering and technology centers. The academic periodical of the university is the Journal of Ningbo University, which consists of editions of Natural Science and Engineering, Liberal Arts, and Education.

International Education

Ningbo University maintains close links and intercollegiate cooperation with 47 well-known institutions of higher learning in Canada, Germany, France, Britain, USA, Sweden, Japan, South Korea and Australia. The success of the international exchanges can be exemplified by its successful China-Canada joint-educational program and its other programs for international students from Japan and other foreign countries. It also has successful cooperation and exchanges with institutions of higher learning and educational agencies in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Up to now it has signed cooperative agreements with The Chinese Culture University of Taiwan, Chaoyang University of Technology, Chihlee Institute of Commerce, and Taiwan Marine University, etc.

Located in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, Ningbo University is generally consisted of three campuses, the east campus which is the main campus, the west campus and the north campus. All the international students can live on campus.

Room Price:

The International Student Hostel consist of 4 kinds of rooms, including 261 small single rooms, 76 double rooms, 16 large single rooms and 10 suites. 

Rules of Accommodation

a. While registering, you should submit valid ID credentials as well as other proofs, and then fill out the accommodation registration form, check the list of articles distributed for daily use, pay RMB1,000 as the deposit money which will be returned back to you while leaving the university. Accommodation will be available only if the above-mentioned formalities have been settled down.

b. The number and names of students sharing a dormitory should be strictly in accordance with the registered number and names. No guest should stay overnight, including the schoolmates. And the bed is not transferable, either.

c. With the consideration of security, do not lend your key to your dormitory to others or borrow keys from others; and when you are out, please shut the door as well as the windows properly. 

d. Do not bring into the building animals and other unclean or dangerous articles, such as articles easy to burn or explode, or poisonous or radioactive materials. Do not burn anything or set off fireworks in the building.

e. It is strictly prohibited to take such illegal activities as fighting, gambling, taking drugs, calling prostitute in the building, or to put up dirty posters, to distribute dirty books, pictures or photos, or to play dirty records, video tapes or Video CD. 

f. Do not have excessive drinking, making noise, or play records or CDs with too high sound.

g. To ensure a tidy, comfortable living condition, please do not spit improperly or litter, or throw anything out of the window. 

h. To ensure security and avoid conflagration, please put out any possible sources of fire(e.g. cigarette stub),and cut off all the power resources when you leave your room. 

i. It is strictly prohibited to use unauthorized electric heating devices or lay electric wires or fix other electric appliances in the dormitory. If there is any violation, the person(s) concerned will be fined upon the situation.

j. Take care of the articles distributed for daily use and public facilities. Compensation must be treated according to the corresponding regulation(s).

3 Steps to Apply to a Chinese University

1. Bachelor degree holders with a minimum of 2-year work experience.
2. Diploma holders with a minimum of 4-year work experience.
3. Sufficient English level
4. Bachelor degree holders without work experience are enrolled as GDBA students (Graduate Diploma in Business Administration) and would then be eligible to enroll in the MBA on successful completion of the GDBA.
