SCUT is one of China's 43 key universities under the direct leadership of the China State Ministry of Education and is widely recognized as one of the most creative and influential universities in China. This reputation has its basis in the University's historical commitment to innovative courses, cross-disciplinary teaching and research, and flexible and high responses to society needs.
 
SCUT was established in November 1952, on the basis of readjustment and amalgamation of the relevant departments of 12 universities in five provinces in Mid-South China. Over the past 50 years, it has developed into a comprehensive university combining science, engineering, liberal arts, industry, and business management. In June 1995, SCUT was first ranked among the universities upon which China is to place financial stress in the new millennium of the 21st century.
 
SCUT is open to the world and taking an active part in international academic exchange. It is connected with over 50 overseas universities in programs that promote graduate-cultivating and scientific research. We have International Students from more than 20 countries of the five continents to study Chinese, Chinese Culture, Science & Engineering or Business of Management in SCUT. With years of practice of teaching Chinese language to the International Students, our language teachers have got enriched experience. The university committee is very care of International Student Education. SCUT has built a new dorm for International Students in the west district of its North Campus. International students may live off campus, but must register at the local police station within 24 hours of arrival. ·

3 Steps to Apply to a Chinese University

1.Applicant should hold Bachelor's degree
2.HSK Band 3 (new HSK Band 4) for Science and/or Engineering studies, Band 6 (new HSK Band 5) for Liberal Arts, Economics and/or Management studies.
3.Those who do not have a HSK result can study for one year of Chinese language program at SCUT prior to their degree programs.
 

1.Photocopy of the passport

The passport must have an expiry date after September of the year you apply, if the validity of the applicant's current passport does not meet the requirement, please apply for a new passport before submitting the application.

3. Photocopy of 1st page to 8th page of your valid passport (Liaoning)

With photo, passport number & expiration date and name included.

For the regarding authority must make sure that there are at least two pages on the passport for the Chinese Embassy to stick the Visa paper and Immigration to stick the resident permit paper.

4. Photocopy of Physical Examination Record.

Applicants should strictly check the items in accordance with the requirements of Physical Examination Record.pdf Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending doctor, the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. The date shall be after October 1, 2023. The original piece is required during registration.

5. Self-introduction video

Applicants are required to upload a video of self-introduction within one minute, and those who have HSK certificates must use Chinese to introduce themselves.

6.Original or copy document of the highest diploma (afternotarization).

If the applicant is currently a student, the pre-graduation certificate issued by the school is required. Non-Chinese/English documents must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.

7.Original or copy document of the mark sheet

Stamped Transcript from the undergraduate/master program or notarized Chinese/English-translated transcript. Those transcripts shall be issued and sealed by the attending university's academic affairs office, graduate school, or student management department.

8.Recommendation letters of 2 professors or associate professors

The signature date shall be after October 1, 2023.

9.Study Plan of no less than 1000 words.

11.Valid HSK Transcript for Chinese-taught programs and IELTS\TOEFL for English-taught programs(or other documents to prove your linguistic competence.)    12.published essays, or any other supporting materials.
