Summer Course

Located in the southwest part of Tianjin City, Tianjin University of Technology offers various programs in areas such as Chinese language, science, engineering, humanities and management on 2 campuses. Until now, the university has enrolled international students from more than 40 countries. TUT has been recommended as the first-choice school in north China by various publications for overseas learning.

6 weeks of Intensive Chinese language summer courses are offered for international students at all proficiency levels of the Chinese langauge, beginner, elementary, intermediate, good, and advanced, from all over the world. Small classes, native Chinese student language partners, experienced teachers.

Duration: July 8th to August 16th (6 weeks)

4 class hours a day in the morning (45 minutes each), five days a week. Please notice that the number of students of each regular class is at least 6 of about the same level of the Chinese language. If the number of students of the same level of Chinese language is less than 6, they should take the mini-classes.

* Tuition Fee for the Mini-classes:

• 1 (student) on 1 (teacher) class; RMB80 (about $11) /per class hour;
• 2 on 1 class; RMB70 (about $10) /per class hour/per student;
• 3 on 1 class; RMB50 (about $7) /per class hour/per student;
• 4 on 1 class; RMB40 (about $5.7) /per class hour/per student;
• 5 on 1 class; RMB35 (about $5) /per class hour/per student.

(2-4 hours a day at the students’ own choice, 5 days a week; 1 class hour = 45 minutes. For 2/3/4/5 on 1 class, students should be of about the same level of the Chinese language.)

The College of International Education (CIE) at Tianjin University of Technology (TUT) is one of the first recommended Chinese language learning institutions by the Ministry of Education of China. It is established especially for recruiting international students who want to study abroad in China for TUT, offering programs in intensive Chinese language study (long-term, short-term, summer, winter courses) and degree programs in various fields of language, science, engineering, management, literature, art and law.

3 Steps to Apply to a Chinese University

• Graduation from high school (or the equivalent), 18 to 60 years of age.  

1. Photocopy of valid passport
   With name, passport number & expiration date, and photo included
2. Passport photo
   A recent passport-sized photo of the applicant
3. High school academic transcript
4. High school graduate certificate
   Graduation certificate in languages other than Chinese or English should be translated into Chinese or English and be certified by notarization.
