About Qingdao University

As one of the 50 Universities approved the qualification of enrolling international students by Ministry of Education, Qingdao University started enrollment of international students from 1987. Qingdao University was approved as HSK test center by Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) in 1997. In 2016, over 1600 international students from 61 countries come to study at Qingdao University.

Institute Introduction

The School of Economics, Qingdao University was established in 2000. Its predecessor was the Department of Finance and Monetary Economics, established in 1992. The School of Economics consists of six academic departments at present.Among the Master and Doctoral Programs, the finance discipline was “the 9th. Five-Year” key disciplines of Shandong Province, “the 11th. Five-Year” strengthening construction of key disciplines and “the 12th. Five-Year” key disciplines.The Finance major is Shandong provincial Brand and Featured major.The School of Economics has two research bases in humanities and social sciences sponsored by Shandong Province. The School of Economics owns a national experimental teaching demonstration center (the Liberal Arts Experimental Teaching Center of Qingdao University) and several high-level professional laboratories. The faculty of the School of Economics counts around 100 persons, among whom, more than 90 are full-time teachers, and 80 percent with Ph.D. There are 18 professors, 31 associate professors, 14 doctoral tutors, and 36 Master Instructors in the School of Economics.

Living Environment

Students are expected to live in the International Students Dormitory, where single and double rooms are available. Every room is equipped with central heating facilities. Rooms have private shower baths and toilets; all rooms are installed with air-conditioners. Shared kitchens and washing machines are also accessible to students in the dormitory.

The University campuses enjoy tranquil and convenient surroundings. All kinds of daily necessities are available in off-campus supermarkets at low prices. Post offices and banks are near the main gate of each campus. City bus routes connect all campuses with the downtown area, scenic spots, and the train station.

Note: 1. This fee structure will be used from the beginning of study until graduation. 2. All the fees should be paid in Chinese currency (RMB) 3. The tuition fee can be paid either in cash or by draft, and all other fees must be paid in cash. The cost for receiving a draft must be paid by the students. 4. There can be no refunds available (for fees of any kind) if requested for personal reasons during the period of study at our university.

Qingdao University located in Qingdao, China was founded in 1901 and is the second national university established in the country, created soon after Jingshi University (the Metropolitan University).

Qingdao University consists of 26 schools/colleges and a graduate school. Courses are offered in 11 main academic disciplines: philosophy, economics, law, literature, history, natural sciences, engineering, management, medicine, education, and military. There are 104 undergraduate degree programs, 209 masters degree programs, 127 doctoral degree programs, and 15 post-doctorate mobile stations. In addition, there are 7 professional master's degree programs in law, business management, engineering, clinical medicine, public health, dentistry and public administration respectively.

Qingdao University has about 95,000 students of which 40,978 are full time students, 10,755 are postgraduate students, and over 1,000 are international students. Since 1980, Qingdao University has received over 10,000 students from more than 60 countries. The university also has a group of reputed scholars known at home and abroad, of which 900 are professors. There are 23 academicians (including adjunct academicians) who are members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

Now the wheel of history has steered into the 21st century and the new millennium. A new era of reform and development has begun. QU also faces unprecedented new challenges and opportunities.

At present, Qingdao University has three accommodation buildings specially provided for international students. They are the Mingxin Building (Mingxin Lou), buildings No.13 (Haoyuan N0.13 Lou), and New building (Xin Lou).

3 Steps to Apply to a Chinese University

1.  Aged 18 to 60 years old; 
2.  Be in good health condition;
3.  University graduate with Bachelor's degree or equivalent (or above); 
4.  Pass entrance examination;

Applicants who have a job should provide certificate of employment, no need for applicants who haven't work. Certificate should be written both in English and Chinese
