2015 Winter Short-term Program

Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE), founded in 1917, is one of oldest and best financial university in China. It has the popular English-Medium BBA course. Besides, it is also prestigious for Training Chinese as a Foreign Language, fully preparing you to pass the HSK. SUFE regularly collaborates with global institutions and foreign universities, like IBM, EDI Webster University etc.

Introduction

2015 Winter Short-term Program is a six-week program which aims to help foreignstudents learnChinese andChinese Culture. After the program, students will be improved in speaking,reading and writing chinese. Our teachers will also offer some guidance if you want to take a HSK mock exam.

Program modules

● Chinese Course

This is a six-week intensive Chinese language course that will significantly improve your ability to speak, listen, read and write Chinese.

● Chinese Culture Course

China is a vast country with some 5000 years of history and a very unique culture. To help you better understand China and her intricate culture, we will provide you with a series of culture activities to add more value to your time studying at the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. These culture activities will include learning about the famous Chinese tea ceremony, the Peking Opera, Chinese Calligraphy and the Shanghai Dialect.

● HSK Mock Test

If you want to know how much your Chinese language ability will improve over the month-long program, then you can take a HSK mock exam at both the beginning and end of the course.The HSK test (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) is a standardized test at the state level that is designed and developed by Hanban. We are one of the national test centers in Shanghai and hold numerous HSK tests very year.

● China Tour

To help you make the most of your time studying Chinese language at the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, we offer three different language levels that our international students can study:

Participants will enjoy a comfortable double room on campus. The doubleroom is equipped with balcony,air conditioning,separate bathroom,telephone,fridge,TV,kitchen,Internet cable,water fountain,microwave oven andlaundry facilities.The dormitory building for international students is located in Zhongshan Beiyi Road Campus. It is only 3 minutes’ walk from the nearest metro station (Line 3) and 15 minutes’ walk from Hongkou Plaza.

Accommodation and Service

All the international students can live in the International Students Apartment on campus. There are two types of room: single room and two-bed room. These two kinds of room are equipped with the independent toilet, air-conditioning, desk and chair, wardrobe , laundry and bedding items. It also offers broadband internet access and landline.

Single Room: RMB 50 per person per day
Double Room: RMB 50 per person per day

* A deposit of RMB 800 is to be paid when checking in and will be refunded when checking out.
* Electricity bills are based on the metered consumption. A deposit of RMB 100 of electricity bill is to be paid in No.8 and No. 7 building when checking in. Electricity bill in No. 1 building is to be paid monthly.
* Laundry fee is RMB 3 every time. The deposit of laundry card is RMB 10.

3 Steps to Apply to a Chinese University

1.Applicants should be between the age of 18 to 60

2.Be in good health and foreigners

   The certificate should be in English or Chinese, if not，it should be translated into English or Chinese and be notarized
