Short-term Students in Long-term Chinese Language Program

Course Load Short-term students may be enrolled in the Long-term Non-degree Chinese Language Course for a period within a semester. The teaching schedule is the same as that of the Long-term Non-degree Chinese Language Course as following: 1. Basic Chinese Language Courses in the morning,

Including: Comprehensive Chinese (grammar, Chinese characters,conversation), Chinese Reading, Chinese Listening Comprehension and Chinese Conversation. 2. Free-charged Elective Courses in the afternoon,

Including: Chinese Characters Writing, Calligraphy, Taijiquan, Paper Cutting, Chinese Elocution, HSK Tutoring, Chinese Modern History, Modern Literature, Security Investment, International Investment, Chinese-Foreign Cultural Exchange History, E-Business, etc. Length of School Study: One to three months. Application Period The application is accepted all the year round. Fees (in CNY) Tuition and any other fees are not refundable once they have been paid to SISU.

Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) was founded in December 1949 as the former Shanghai Russian College. It later was named the Shanghai Foreign Language Institute and became a national key university approved by the State Council in 1963. Approved by the Ministry of Education in 1994, it was officially renamed as “Shanghai International Studies University”. In the same year, it was listed as one of the first colleges and universities jointly supervised by the national Ministry of Education and the Municipality of Shanghai. In 1996, it passed the evaluation process of Project 211 directed by the Ministry of Education, and became one of the nation’s “100 key universities for the 21st Century.”

Now, SISU has two campuses in Hongkou and Songjiang. The Hongkou campus is located in the center of Shanghai, covering 16.9 hectares with elegant surroundings. The Songjiang campus is in Shanghai's Songjiang New District, covering an area of 53.3 hectares, with a picturesque environment.

Each room has a private bathroom, a telephone, a TV set, internet access, etc.

Double room: 65 RMB/person/day (70 RMB/person/day in case of less-than-three-month lodging); 

Single room: 140 RMB/day.

Songjiang Campus

Introduction

A three-storey building built in 2001, is located on Songjiang Campus of SISU. Both double rooms and single rooms are available. Each room has an air-conditioner, a private bath, a telephone and a TV set.

Single room: RMB 100 per day.

( ★ The accommodation fees of the above university dormitories are paid by semester and will not be refunded if you leave during the semester.)

3 Steps to Apply to a Chinese University

1.(Applicants must be) non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport
2.High school graduate or equivalent or above.
3.(Applicants should be between the) age of 16 to 60
4.Be in good health,
5.With reliable financial support and custody;
6.Students who don't know any Chinese should enter the program from the beginning of a semester.

1.  Photocopy of valid passport
With photo, passport number &expiration date and name included.

2.  Passport-sized photo
A passport-sized photo taken recently of the applicant.

3.  Certificate/Diploma of highest education
The certificate should be in English or Chinese, if not，it should be translated into English or Chinese and be notarized
