Foundation Programs

Located Beijing and founded in 1941, Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) is a key university directly affiliated with the Ministry of Education (MOE) of the People’s Republic of China. It is the first institution specializing in foreign language studies. Among the more than 7,000 registered BFSU students, there are approximately 1,000 international students. To date, BFSU has established extensive academic partnerships with 320 universities and educational institutions in 65 countries and regions of the world. As the authority of foreign language teaching, BFSU will definitly prepare you a master of languages.

Preparatory program: The duration of study is six months to one year. Students who perform well in school, pass the assessment and have excellent test scores will have the opportunity to be recommended to study in relevant undergraduate majors in our school.

International School of Business at Beijing Foreign Studies University was established to create a truly progressive business education program set on the basis of integrating an American business teaching model with a deep understanding of Asian cultures. Its campus, located in the capital of China, provides the perfect background for such a dynamic program, centering on Chinese businesses and their relationships with foreign countries.

 International School of Business offers students a most pertinent and unique combination of subjects, addressing contemporary Chinese business concerns, Chinese culture, Asian values and advanced Western and American business practice and management. BFSU-Sol Bridge students enjoy the convenience of dormitories located on and nearby Beijing Foreign Studies University campus, a short walk away form classrooms and cafeterias. Our recently renovated dormitories are comfortable and clean. Students have the option of choosing among different styles and designs in accommodation and whether or not they prefer to share a room.

On-Campus Accommodation

Four dormitory buildings, located on the Beijing Foreign Studies University campus, are allocated for international students. They are the Guojiao Building on the east campus, the White Building, Building 6 and Building 7 on the west campus. All the rooms are equipped with air-conditioner, television set, telephone, desk and chair, bed and bedding. High-speed Internet Facilities and services are available in dormitory rooms and are provided at a nominal charge.

Off-Campus Accommodation

The off-campus dormitory is located a 15 minute walk from the BFSU-SolBridge campus. All rooms are equipped with air-conditioner, heater, telephone, Internet access, a balcony, bed and bedding, desk and chair. The dormitory complex also houses a cafeteria, convenience store and a bank. Transportation is very convenient and a bus to campus, or elsewhere, stops right outside the dormitory gates.

3 Steps to Apply to a Chinese University

Applicants must be high school graduates, at least 18 years of age, and usually under 50 years of age. The applicant must be determined not to have Chinese nationality in accordance with the Nationality Law of the People's Republic of China and hold a valid ordinary passport for personal reasons. According to Notice No. 12 of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China (2020), our University's supplementary regulations for international students applying for undergraduate studies are as follows:

If both parents or one of the applicants is a Chinese citizen and settled abroad, and the applicant has foreign nationality at birth, in addition to meeting other registration qualifications, the applicant must also hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for more than 4 years (inclusive). Have actually resided in a foreign country for at least 2 years in the last 4 years (as of April 30, 2025) (the actual residence in a foreign country for at least 9 months in a year can be counted as one year, subject to the entry-exit signature).

The applicant must be physically and mentally healthy, meet the physical examination requirements for visa or residence permit in China, and meet the physical examination standards of the major applied by our university, so as to ensure that he can study and live normally during his stay in China. Applicants should have good conduct, no disciplinary violations, no public security penalties, no criminal acts and records, be friendly to China, abide by Chinese laws and school rules and regulations, and respect the customs and habits of the Chinese people.
