Located Beijing and founded in 1941, Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) is a key university directly affiliated with the Ministry of Education (MOE) of the People’s Republic of China. It is the first institution specializing in foreign language studies. Among the more than 7,000 registered BFSU students, there are approximately 1,000 international students. Program Focus
The department has graduates program at the Master's and Ph.D levels. The Master and Doctorate of Arts in English and Intercultural Studies are designed for those students who desire advanced training for careers that require interdisplinary knowledge and research. Strong comphasis is placed on theoretical and displinary and strict training in research methodology, and on strengthening students' English proficiency and broadening their scope of knowledge.
Drawing uping insights from political science, economics, sociology, history and communication theory, students will be capable of analyzing contemporary global issues, formulating intercultural perspectives, and exploring better solutions to today's complex and changing cross-cultural and transnational problems.

On-Campus Accommodation
Four dormitory buildings, located on the Beijing Foreign Studies University campus, are allocated for international students. They are the Guojiao Building on the east campus, the White Building, Building 6 and Building 7 on the west campus. All the rooms are equipped with air-conditioner, television set, telephone, desk and chair, bed and bedding. High-speed Internet Facilities and services are available in dormitory rooms and are provided at a nominal charge.
