OE(optical engineering)

The Department/School of International Education mainly undertakes affairs in four aspects: International students study in China, Chinese students study abroad, Chinese-Foreign cooperation in running schools and Confucius Institute. It has three offices:

The Office of Partner Relations is responsible for the promotion and supervision of Chinese-Foreign cooperative education programs and institutions, the development and management of students' international exchange programs, the expansion and management of Confucius Institutes, and the operation of students' international brand programs.

The Office of Admission and Quality Assurance is responsible for the admission and education management of all types of international students, the application and management of Chinese-Foreign cultural exchange programs and cooperation programs between Xidian University and ministries, and the contact and expansion of university-enterprise cooperation programs.

The Office of International Students and Scholar Services is responsible for the management and service of all kinds of international students, including daily management, laws and regulations education, national conditions education, various scholarship evaluation, apartment management, residence formalities, contact with relevant departments inside and outside the university, epidemic prevention and control, emergency handling and other affairs.

Optical engineering is an engineering discipline centered around the generation, transmission, regulation, detection and application of light. It studies how to design and manufacture optical systems and devices using optical principles, and solves technical problems in fields such as energy, information, healthcare, and communication. From microscopes revealing the microscopic world to laser cutting reshaping industrial production, from fiber-optic communication connecting the globe to AR/VR constructing virtual worlds, optical engineering is the core support for "the application and innovation of light" in modern technology.

Overview of Postdoctoral Researchers

Since 1990, Xidian has recruited more than 1,000 postdoctoral researchers, most of whom have emerged as experts or academic leaders in domestic and international first-class universities or high-level scientific research institutions.

Since 1989, Xidian has successively set up 15 postdoctoral mobile stations for Information and Communication Engineering, Electronic Science and Technology, Physics, Mechatronic Engineering, Computer Science and Technology,  Control Science and Engineering, Mathematics, Instrument Science and Technology, Cyberspace Security, Software Engineering, Optical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Management Science and Engineering, and Integrated Circuit Science and Engineering.

The four mobile stations for Information and Communication Engineering, Electronic Science and Technology, and Computer Science and Technology were rated as EXCELLENT in the recent national mobile station evaluation.

3 Steps to Apply to a Chinese University

1: Applicants must not have aChinese nationality.

2:Applicants must be physically and mentally healthy (free from infectious diseases and any physical or mental diseasethat would have impact on the normal study), and must abide by Chinese laws and regulations, as well as XidianUniversity's school rules and regulations, and respect China's social morals and customs.

3:Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
