There are currently two campuses, namely Songshan Lake and Guancheng. Among them, the Songshan Lake campus covers an area of 1,860 mu (including a 370-mu international cooperation and innovation zone). The Guancheng Campus covers an area of 332 mu. There are 20 secondary colleges. There are 1,920 faculty and staff members, among whom 149 hold senior professional titles, 377 hold associate senior professional titles, and 1,006 have doctoral degrees. Among the full-time teachers, 38% hold senior professional titles or above, and over 70% have doctoral degrees. There are 20,356 full-time undergraduate students, 1,088 postgraduate students and 41 doctoral students in joint training programs. There are approximately 20,000 students in continuing education. So far, it has cultivated over 130,000 talents of various types for the local area. The employment rate of graduates after graduation has been over 93%, and about 95% of the graduates have chosen to work or start businesses in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The satisfaction rate of employers has been over 93%.
Dongguan University of Technology is the first public undergraduate institution in Dongguan. It operates under a management system of "co-construction by the provincial and municipal governments, with the municipal government taking the lead". It is one of the first batch of pilot universities for the Ministry of Education's "Outstanding Engineers Education and Training Program", one of the first batch of high-level science and engineering universities in Guangdong Province, and the only demonstration university of new high-level science and engineering jointly built by the provincial and municipal governments in Guangdong Province. Dr. Yang Zhenning, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a Nobel Prize winner in Physics, serves as the honorary president.
