Jiangsu Normal University is a university jointly built by the People's Government of Jiangsu Province and the Ministry of Education, and it is a university involved in the construction of high-level universities in Jiangsu Province. The school was founded in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province in 1952. Lieutenant General Liu Xiansheng, who had outstanding military achievements, was the first principal. It was officially included in the regular higher education system for enrollment in 1956. Jiangsu Teachers College was established in 1957. In 1958, the school moved north to Xuzhou. In 1959, it merged with Xuzhou Teachers College to form Xuzhou Teachers College. In the early 1960s, the layout of universities across the country was adjusted. Premier Zhou Enlai instructed: "The Xuzhou area is vast, so there should be a university." As a result, the school was retained. Since then, the school has taken root in northern Jiangsu, worked hard to start a business and gradually developed. It began to recruit postgraduate students in 1979 and became one of the first batch of institutions in the country to confer master's degrees in 1981. In 1984, the People's Government of Jiangsu Province established Xuzhou Teachers College based on the former Xuzhou Teachers' College. In 1989, this college was merged into our university. In 1996, the school was renamed Xuzhou Normal University. In 1999, Xuzhou Industrial School, which was formerly under the Ministry of Coal Industry, was merged into it. In 2011, the school was renamed Jiangsu Normal University. In 2012, it was approved for the Doctoral Talent training program to serve the special needs of the country. It was approved as a doctoral degree awarding institution in 2024. Since its establishment, all the teachers and students of the school have adhered to the school motto of "Upholding Virtue and Learning, Aspiring and Acting Promptly". Through unremitting efforts, all undertakings have developed rapidly, and the comprehensive strength and international influence have been continuously enhanced.
Software engineering
The university currently has four campuses: Quanshan, Yunlong, Kuiyuan and Jiawang. It has 22 professional colleges, as well as the Jingwen College, the Continuing Education College, the International College and the first non-independent legal person Sino-Russian cooperative education institution approved by the Ministry of Education - Jiangsu Normal University Saint Petersburg Polytechnic University Joint Engineering College. In addition, it has an independent college, the Kewen College. At present, there are 60 undergraduate programs, 2 first-level discipline doctoral degree authorization points (Chinese Language and Literature, Mathematics), 31 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points, 20 master's professional degree categories, and 1 postdoctoral research station, covering 11 disciplines. It has the right to apply for the conferment of master's degrees with equivalent academic qualifications and the right to recommend master's students for postgraduate studies. There are currently 1,854 full-time teachers, among whom 1,030 hold senior professional titles. Among the full-time teachers, 65.1% hold a doctoral degree and 36.8% have overseas study experience. There are over 23,000 full-time undergraduate students, more than 7,000 doctoral and master's degree students, and over 300 international students in academic education on campus. Since its establishment, the school has sent more than 200,000 graduates to society. A large number of alumni who have achieved outstanding accomplishments are active in various fields such as politics, economy, culture, science and technology, and education at home and abroad.
(1) Hold a foreign nationality, be friendly towards China, have no criminal record, be in good health, and meet the health standards for foreign students in China as stipulated by the Ministry of Education (those who fail the physical examination after arrival will not be registered);

The "Outstanding International Undergraduate Scholarship of Jiangsu Normal University" is independently established by Jiangsu Normal University in addition to the scholarships offered by various Chinese government departments. It is divided into two levels: the first prize scholarship and the second prize scholarship. The amount of the first prize scholarship covers the tuition fee for one academic year (14,000 yuan for undergraduate students, 16,000 yuan for graduate students); the amount of the second prize scholarship covers the tuition fee for half an academic year (7,000 yuan for undergraduate students, 8,000 yuan for graduate students). The specific number of scholarships will be determined according to the annual student enrollment situation.
