Shenyang Agricultural University is located in Shenyang, a national historical and cultural city. It is adjacent to the World Cultural Heritage Site, Qingfu Mausoleum, in the east, faces the Shen River and Hun River in the south, and leans against Tianzhu Mountain in the north. It covers an area of 10,246 mu.

The history of Shenyang Agricultural University can be traced back to the provincial Fengtian Agricultural School established in 1906. In 1952, during the national adjustment of higher education institutions, a new Shenyang Agricultural College was established based on some departments of the Agricultural College of Fudan University and Northeast Agricultural College. 

It was approved by The State Council as a key national institution of higher learning in 1979. In 1981, it became one of the first institutions with the authority to confer doctoral and master's degrees. 

In 1985, it was renamed Shenyang Agricultural University, and Comrade Deng Xiaoping inscribed the name of the school. In 2000, it was transferred from the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Agriculture to a key national university mainly managed by Liaoning Province and jointly built by the central and local governments.

Under the guidance of the Party's educational policy, several generations of Shenyang Agricultural University students have worked tirelessly and innovatively, and the school's various undertakings have continued to grow and develop. 

We have vigorously implemented the strategy of establishing the school through teaching, invigorating the school with scientific research, strengthening the school with talents, and bringing honor to the school with alumni. We have led all the teachers and students to seize opportunities, be bold in reform, work hard and overcome difficulties. As a result, all undertakings have developed rapidly. Looking to the future, the school is moving towards the goal of building a high-level university that is "first-class in the country, distinctive in Northeast China, and of high quality in Shenyang Agricultural University".

Civil Engineering is a discipline centered on the construction of various types of infrastructure and architectural projects, covering the entire process including planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance. Its research objects include building construction, Bridges, roads, tunnels, water conservancy projects, underground projects, etc., aiming to solve the spatial needs for human survival and development through engineering technology. This major integrates knowledge from multiple fields such as mathematics, mechanics, materials science, and computer technology, aiming to cultivate compound talents with engineering practice ability and innovative thinking, and to meet the national strategic demands such as urbanization, transportation construction, and disaster prevention and mitigation.

SYAU attaches great importance to the international exchanges and cooperation with world-famous universities and research institutes. So far, it has established scientific academic cooperation linkswith 84 institutions of higher education and research institutes in over 40 countries and regions around the world.

3 Steps to Apply to a Chinese University

High School Graduate

 1. One original copy and one photocopy of Application Form of Liaoning Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students (see the attachment)

2. Notarized certificate of highest degree and transcripts. A certificate of enrollment or a certificate of employment should also be submitted if applicants have been officially employed for a job. Documents that are formulated neither in Chinese of English should be enclosed with a notarized Chinese or English version upon submission.

3. One original copy and photocopy of Foreigners Physical Examination Report

4. Study and Research Plan in China (no less than 1000 words)

5. Recommendation letters from 2 professors or associate professors of the previous school.

Major Award

The recipient of Major Award of Freshman Scholarship will be waived the fresh-year accommodation fee, equivalent of RMB 9600 Yuan for PhD international student, or the fresh-year accommodation fee, equivalent of RMB 4200 Yuan for undergraduate and graduate international students.

Minor Award

The recipient of Minor Award of Freshman Scholarship will be waived half of the fresh year accommodation fee, equivalent of RMB 4800 Yuan for PhD international student, or half of fresh year accommodation fee, equivalent of RMB 2100 Yuan for undergraduate and graduate international students.
