Founded in 1953, Zhejiang Chinese Medical University (ZCMU) is a prominent institution in Zhejiang Province, jointly supported by the People's Government of Zhejiang Province, the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the Ministry of Education. With two campuses, ZCMU serves over 24,000 full-time students, including more than 5,600 postgraduate students and over 1,200 international students.

ZCMU’s academic structure includes 22 teaching institutions offering 34 undergraduate programs, 11 of which are recognized as national first-class construction programs. Its Pharmacology and Toxicology, Clinical Medicine, Biology and Biochemistry, and Agricultural Sciences are ranked in the top 0.16%, 0.24%, 0.6% and 1% globally, respectively, according to the Essential Science Indicators (ESI). It is ranked 601-700 in the 2024 Shanghai Ranking’s Academic Ranking of World Universities, with its Pharmacy discipline ranked 115.

If necessary, on-site or on-line Interviews will be organized for the applicants after the assessment of their application documents. Merit-based admission will be offered based on the comprehensive evaluation of applicants’ academic performances in high school and their performances in the interview (if any).

Internationally, ZCMU collaborates with over 170 institutions in more than 50 countries and regions. It operates 4 overseas TCM centers, and 11 overseas education centers. 3 Steps to Apply to a Chinese University

1) Applicants shall be non-Chinese citizens，under the age of 35, with valid foreign passports, in good health physically and mentally;

2) Requirements of the regulations set in the Document No. 12 (2020) of Ministry of Education of the PRC shall be met;

3) Applicants shall hold Senior High School Diploma; Provisional graduation certificate is acceptable upon application, while the official Senior High School Diploma shall be submitted prior to registration at ZCMU;

4) Language proficiency requirements:

l For Chinese taught programs, HSK4 certificate is required;

l For English taught programs, applicants are required to submit scores of the Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet Based Test (TOEFL iBT), International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or the Duolingo English Test (DET) as evidence of English Proficiency. The applicant shall at least have the score of 5.5 for IELTS, 80 for TOEFL iBT or 95 for the Duolingo English Test (DET). Native-English speakers can apply for waiver of English Proficiency. Applicants whose last study was instructed in English can submit the English test result of senior secondary school leaving certificate and an English-medium instruction certificate as evidence of English proficiency.

1) Application form(can be downloaded in portal when all the information is filled);

2) Scanned copy of passport including photo page and visa page with at least 6 months validity from the submission of the application;

3) Recent 2-inch color photo (white background);

4) High school diploma (notarized photocopy in Chinese or English); Provisional graduation certificate is acceptable upon application, while the official Senior High School Diploma shall be submitted prior to registration at ZCMU;

5) Transcript for all the courses in senior high school (notarized copy in Chinese/English)

6) Physical Examination Report (issued in recent 6 months).

7) Police Clearance Certificate (issued in recent 6 months).

8) For applicants already in China, study certificate/working certificate is required;

9) Other documents (if necessary).
