ProgramAbout the Program

With the development of science and technology and the further development of energy by human beings, how to promote the clean and efficient use of energy and promote the industrial upgrading of the energy market has become a new focus in the energy field. Connected technology is changing the way society operates, and the "building a smarter earth" proposed by academia is projected into the energy field, which has produced the cutting-edge concept of "smart energy", which deeply integrates the Internet with energy production, transmission, storage, consumption and energy markets. At the same time, President Xi Jinping proposed in 2020 that China should strive to achieve "carbon peak" by 2030 and "carbon neutrality" by 2060, and undertake the responsibility and historical mission of carbon reduction. Since energy consumption accounts for 80% of China's total emissions, the development of new energy technologies will play a key role in China's "double carbon" strategic goals.
The college is now actively cooperating with famous universities at home and abroad to design 3+1+1 new energy undergraduate and master's degree courses, and the major also has a graduation project (Final Year Project) to train students to do their own work and research ability, which will be of great help to future education and employment. Graduates of this major will be able to enter emerging energy fields including renewable energy, smart grid, new energy vehicles, as well as universities and research institutes engaged in new energy-related research.
This major is interdisciplinary, and students can choose to pursue further studies in the direction of new energy science or new energy engineering according to their own interests.
