Shaanxi University of Science and Technology (SUST) is a key public multidisciplinary university in China. The core of this discipline is "researching the laws of energy conversion and efficient utilization, and developing clean and low-carbon power systems and energy equipment". It focuses on the conversion mechanisms of energy forms such as thermal energy, mechanical energy, and electrical energy, as well as the design, optimization, and operation of power and energy equipment such as boilers, steam turbines, internal combustion engines, fuel cells, and refrigeration equipment. It serves important industries such as power, transportation, chemical industry, and environmental protection.

2. Training Objectives

It aims to cultivate comprehensive engineering technical talents with a solid theoretical foundation in engineering thermophysics, the ability to design energy power systems, and innovative thinking. They can engage in scientific research, technology development, engineering design, and operation management in fields such as energy power, thermal engineering, refrigeration and air conditioning, and new energy. Specific requirements include: 

Master the basic principles of heat transfer and energy conversion (such as thermodynamic laws and heat transfer laws);

Have the ability to design and optimize power equipment (such as steam turbines, internal combustion engines) and energy systems (such as thermal power plants, new energy power stations);

Be familiar with cutting-edge fields in clean energy technologies (such as hydrogen energy, photovoltaic and solar thermal energy), carbon capture and utilization (CCUS), and energy-saving technologies;

Be able to solve practical problems using tools such as numerical simulation (such as CFD computational fluid dynamics) and experimental testing;

Adapt to the demand for energy structure transformation under the "dual carbon" goals, and promote the development of the energy system towards low-carbonization and intelligence.

3 Steps to Apply to a Chinese University

1. Non-Chinese citizens who are in good health and have excellent academic performance. For those who were originally Chinese citizens but later acquired foreign citizenship, our school follows the "Notice of the Ministry of Education on Regulating the Work of Accepting International Students by Higher Education Institutions" at http://www.gov.cn/zhengce/zhengceku/2020-06/10/content_5518369.htm.

2. Those applying for long-term language training without a degree must have a high school diploma or above, and their age should generally not exceed 25 years old.

3. Those pursuing a master's degree must have a bachelor's degree or above, and their age should generally not exceed 30 years old.

4.  Those pursuing a doctoral degree must have a master's degree or above, and their age should generally not exceed 35 years old.

5. Those applying for courses taught entirely in English must have an English proficiency score of 6.0 or above on the IELTS or 80 or above on the TOEFL.

6. Those with a bachelor's degree from a Chinese university must have a Chinese proficiency level of HSK 4 and a score of 200 or above.

6.Foreigner Physical Examination Form (in English and valid within  6 months）
