Southern Medical University, the former First Military Medical University, was founded in October 1951 and notarized as one of the premier medical universities in 1978. The university was handed over to the local government of Guangdong Province and meanwhile renamed as Southern Medial University, in line with the command by the State Department and the Central Military Committee of PLA in August 2004. At present, the university has been authorized by the Department of Education as a key medical university.
1. Not of Chinese nationality but holding a valid foreign passport.
And there is a record of having actually resided abroad for more than two years within the last four years (up to April 30 of the admission year).
2. Be in good physical and mental health and meet the physical examination standards for applying for a study visa or residence permit to China.
3. Age and educational requirements:
Undergraduate students: Under 30 years old, with an educational qualification equivalent to a high school diploma in China.
(2) Master's degree candidates: Under 35 years old, with a degree equivalent to a bachelor's degree from a Chinese university.
(3) Doctoral candidates: Under 40 years old, with a degree equivalent to a master's degree from a Chinese university.
4. Diligent and eager to learn, with good conduct, abiding by laws and regulations, no record of violating school rules and regulations, no record of public security penalties, and no criminal record.
5. Excellent academic performance and a clear purpose for studying in China. Applicants for master's or doctoral degrees are required to have a GPA of 3.0 or above in their previous academic stage, with no failed or retaken subjects. For undergraduate applicants, the average grade of the three years of high school must be above 75%, with no failed subjects.
6. Have good language skills in either Chinese or English. The specific requirements are as follows:
(1) Undergraduate programs taught in Chinese: A score certificate of HSK Level 4 (no less than 180 points) or other equivalent Chinese proficiency test results is required. Applicants whose highest academic degree was taught entirely in Chinese are exempt from the Chinese language test score certificate, but they must submit a Chinese language teaching certificate issued by their graduating school.
(2) Undergraduate programs taught in English: Applicants whose native language is not English must have proof of IELTS Academic (no less than 6.0, with no less than 5.5 in each section), TOEFL (IBT no less than 80, with no less than 15 in each section), or other equivalent English test scores. Applicants whose native language is English or whose highest academic degree was taught entirely in English may be exempted from the English test score certificate, but they must submit a certificate of English teaching issued by their graduating school.
(3) Postgraduate programs taught in Chinese: A score certificate of HSK Level 5 (no less than 180 points) or other equivalent Chinese proficiency tests is required.
(4) English-taught postgraduate programs: Applicants whose native language is not English must provide proof of IELTS Academic (with no less than 6.5 in each section and no less than 6.0 in each section), TOEFL (with no less than 90 in IBT and no less than 20 in each section), or other equivalent English test scores. Applicants whose native language is English or whose highest academic degree was taught entirely in English may be exempted from the English test score certificate, but they must submit a certificate of English teaching issued by their graduating school.

5 Two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors, which must be original in either Chinese or English (including signatures and contact information)

7. A list of published papers, abstracts, or other materials that can prove one's research ability

10. A scanned copy of the "Physical Examination Record for Foreigners" (please keep the original for yourself), which must be filled out in either Chinese or English.
