Anhui University began to enroll international students in 1980. It was authorized by the Ministry of Education of the PRC to accept Scholarship students in 2000 and it was appointed to be the ‘Oversea Chinese Language Educational Base’ by the Oversea Affairs Office under the State Council in the same year.

School of International Education of Anhui University was established in 2005. It was derived from the International Cultural Exchange Center of AHU, which was founded in 2000. Our school is responsible for enrollment, registration, teaching arrangements, entry and exit affairs of international students. Nowadays, AHU accepts hundreds of students coming from over 20 countries all over the world.

School of International Education is in the Main Campus, downtown area of Hefei city, enjoying convenient transportation and exquisite surroundings.

On-campus lodging:
a. Apartments for International Students is comprised of 54 standard rooms, 12   two-room apartments. It can accommodate a total of 120 international students.
b. Lodging procedures:

• Students can apply in the office of School of International Education.
• booking a room: International students can book their rooms through telephone, fax, and e-mails.

c. Room fess (per day / per person/ per bed in RMB Yuan)
Standard room (two beds): 25 Yuan
Apartment (two beds): 40 Yuan
 
Off-campus lodging:
Hefei is among the first cities to be opened to the outside world and admit off-campus lodging to foreign students. Since 1995 when the practice started, due to proper management, international students have not involved themselves in any serious events related to public order. The present room charge in Hefei is about 500 Yuan a month (two bedrooms with living room, washroom and kitchen).

3 Steps to Apply to a Chinese University

1.To have received a college education or a similar education;
2.To submit his/her graduation certificate or a similar diploma and transcripts
3.To submit 2 letters of recommendation from two professors or associate professors;

1.Photocopy of valid passport
With photo, passport number&expiration date and name included.

2.Passport-sized photo
A passport-sized photo taken recently of the applicant.

3.Graduation certificate of high school
Graduation certificate should be in Chinese or English. If not, it should be translated into Chinese or English and be notarized.

4.Academic transcript of high school

5.Two Recommendation letters
From Professors, associate professors or equivalents.
