Program Introduction
The Guanghua School of Management’s International PhD Program (IPHD) aims at educating and developing young management scholars who are able to conduct highly qualified scientific research, to advance the quality of management research in mainland China and globally. Modeled after PhD programs in North American research universities, this full-time program is designed for candidates with outstanding intellectual abilities and strong commitment to research, to produce university faculty members who are excellent researchers and teachers, especially in business schools. The program uses English language for all courses, papers, and dissertations. The program faculty includes many famous international scholars who teach some of the courses and serve on students’ dissertation committees. Financial support is offered by both the university and the school. Students are not allowed to work on non-research projects while enrolled in the IPHD program. An opportunity to participate in an international exchange is provided on a competitive basis. Travel support is provided for international conference attendance if a student presents a first or single author paper at the conference. In addition, the program encourages academic research by awarding the best papers through an annual IPHD poster session, and awarding the best dissertation proposals by way of an annual dissertation proposal competition. The program follows a strict annual-review system. Those who cannot pass the annual review may be disqualified from continuing with the IPHD study in the next year. Such students may be allowed be complete a Master’s degree instead.
Program Areas
The program admits doctoral candidates in the following areas:
1. Organizational behavior and human resources management, 2. Marketing, and 3. Strategic management. When you apply online, please fill in the research areas you would like to study.
Program Length
The program lasts five years for applicants without a Master degree and four years for Master-degree holders. Admission Evaluation
Initial screening. An admissions committee in each department comprised of Guanghua faculty and invited international professors will evaluate students based on application information. The strength of the recommendation letters, the academic record at the applicant’s undergraduate/graduate institution, and his/her research agenda, with its fit within the general research interests of GSM’s faculty, are all evaluated, as evidence of intellectual ability and a commitment to a career in research;
IPHD evaluation interview. Applicants who passed the initial screening will receive an interview. Qualified applicants are then required to attend an Evaluative Interview in April. The admission committee then makes its recommendations for admission to Guanghua School of Management. Peking University makes the official admission decisions and an ‘Admission Notice’ will be sent to the successful candidates by the end of June.

For the international students who will study in Peking University,there are two options for your accomodation as following :
On-Campus
A. Student rooms in Posts and Telecommunications Hotel: with air conditioner, color TV, telephone, bathroom, and room-cleaning service, about 5 minutes away from Peking University campus by foot. 58 RMB per day per bed for two- or three-room apartment with two beds in each room. 95 RMB per day for single room.
B. Student rooms in Zhongguanyuan Global Village PKU: with color TV, telephone, Internet access, air conditioner and bathroom.
Self-funded Students are required to find their own living accommodation. Please note that students who live off campus must register to the local police station.
C. Student rooms in Shaoyuan Building No. 9 (on-campus): with color TV, telephone, Internet access, air conditioner and bathroom; two persons share one room.
D. King-size rooms in Shaoyuan Building (on-campus):with color TV, telephone, refrigerator, Internet access, bathroom, and air conditioner; two persons share one room.
Notes: Due to the limited accommodation on campus, the Shaoyuan International Students Residences can only provide the house for scholarship students.

800 words for master program and 1500 words for doctorate program, must be in Chinese
