Introduction This programme will provide you with comprehensive training in the theoretical and quantitative tools used in the study of economics, and an opportunity to specialize in one of three areas (finance, international business or marketing). All students receive a rigorous grounding in microeconomic, macroeconomic and econometric theories. What knowledge and skills will I acquire? By the time you graduate, you should: be able to apply economic theories to the workings of real world markets; have the ability to analyse and identify creative solutions to problems relating to business and economic policy. What are my career prospects? The analytical, empirical, and interpretative skills you will develop through the Economics programme are highly valuable in a wide variety of careers. Graduates will be well prepared for management and specialist roles in industry and business, the financial sector, local government, civil service. You will also have a good foundation for further postgraduate study. What will I study? At level 1, you will study the following core subjects, which will provide you with a broad foundation in economic theory: Quantitative Methods Micro- and Macro-economics You will also be able to follow specialist modules in either finance, international business or marketing. At level 2, you will learn more about micro- and macro-economics and will be introduced to econometric theory. You will also continue to follow your chosen specialism in finance, international business or marketing. In your final year, you will undertake a substantial research project, spanning both semesters. Alongside your project, you will be introduced to game theory. You will also complete your study of economic and econometric theories, and your specialist studies in finance, international business or marketing.

We will book accommodation for you as soon as you have been given an unconditional offer and paid us a deposit of RMB10,000 (around USD1,500) to secure your place at the University. Where possible, we try to allocate students to their first choice. However, where this is not possible, an alternative offer will be made.

- Option C: Studio Apartment at Scholar's Garden

Daily rate: RMB 55 (around USD 8)
Monthly rate: RMB 1,650 (USD 248)

The rates above mentioned are based on a 9-month contract.
The rates quoted above do not cover utility charges, such as electricity, water, telephone, wireless access and gas. The electricity rate is RMB0.56 per KWH and water rate RMB2.8 per ton.
Before check-in, you need to pay 3-month rent in advance and 1-month rent as deposit.
We will try to satisfy your first choice. However up to now, the apartments of Option D at MBA Apartments have all been rented out. You can only choose Option A, B or C.
A new building, which is currently under construction, will be completed at the end of 2011 to accommodate overseas students specifically.

3 Steps to Apply to a Chinese University

Academic Requirements:
The University accepts a wide variety of school, college and foundation qualifications such as A-Level, AS-Level, IB and other equivalent overseas qualifications.
English Language Requirements:
All students must have acceptable English language qualifications to study at the University. Various English qualifications are acceptable including:
IELTS 5.5 for year 1 entry , or 6.5 for advanced standing; or
TOEFL 520 (paper-based), or 190 (computer-based) or 75 (iBT) for year 1 entry; or
TOEFL 570 (paper-based), or 230 (computer-based) or 88 (iBT) for advanced standing, or
XJTLU English test.

1.  Photocopy of valid passport
With photo, passport number &expiration date and name included.

2.  Passport-sized photo
A passport-sized photo taken recently of the applicant.

3.  Graduation certificate of high school
Graduation certificate should be in Chinese or English.If not, it should be translated into Chinese or English and be notarized.

From professor,associate professor or equivalents.

6.  Certificate of English proficiency test
IELTS or TOEFl will only be required if the applicant is not a native English speaker.
