In history, Zhenjiang was one of the origins of Wu culture, and produced a large number of celebrated scientists, literators and historians. Zhenjiang's culture has been very attractive for both Chinese and foreigners. Marco Polo, a famous Italian writer of The Travels of Marco Polo, studied Chinese culture and Chinese political systems in Zhenjiang many years. Pearl S. Buck, the famous American woman writer who was awarded the Nobel Prize for literature in 1938, spent her childhood, adolescence and youth in Zhenjiang, therefore, most of her works were stamped with the influence of local culture.

Accommodation


Introductions 

Jiangsu University is located in Zhenjiang in Jiangsu province,and is generally consisted of four campuses: main campus of jiangsu university, MengXi campus, North campus and zhongshan campus. All the international students can live in campus.

You need not to book in advance, Because the school will arrange for you. Moreover, all the students can live in the double room. In the dorm room: there are furniture, telephone, air conditioning, internet, hot water, toilet, kitchen, public utilities and washing machines in the dormitory. The bedding should be bought and it cost 400RMB. There will be staff in charge of cleaning public area. 

Accommodation fee:
1.long-time accommodation: 4,300 to 4,900 per person per academic year (Double-room)
2.short-time accommodation:

Following expenses are for first year only:
Deposit for Dormitory: 500 CNY

Annual Expenses from first year to last year:

ENROLL IN CHINA

Entry Requirements

(1)Non-Chinese citizens who are physically and mentally healthy, have a good academic background, voluntarily abide by Chinese laws and the school's rules and regulations, and respect the customs and habits of the Chinese people. 

(2) Foreign citizens with the equivalent of a high school diploma and holding valid passports, aged 18 to 25, those under 18 must submit a guardian's guarantee letter. For those who were originally Chinese citizens and later acquired foreign nationality, the relevant regulations of the Ministry of Education shall be followed.


Application Materials

(1) A scanned copy of the first page of the passport (valid until after March 31, 2026), and for those who have been in China, scanned copies of all Chinese-related visas and residence permits. 

(2) Original or notarized copy of the high school diploma. For graduating students, a pre-graduation certificate issued by the student's current school is required (the graduation date should be before September 10, 2025). The original diploma must be submitted upon registration. 

(3) An original or notarized copy of the high school transcript for all courses. 

Applicants for English-taught programs are required to provide a copy of their IELTS, TOEFL or Duolingo test scores. The IELTS score should be above 5.5, the TOEFL score above 80, or the Duolingo score above 100. 

(5) Personal Statement: Submit a personal statement of your intention to study in China (no less than 800 words), written in either Chinese or English. The content should include your personal study and work experiences, your motivation for studying in China, reasons for choosing your major, and your personal development goals after graduation. 

(6) Physical Examination Form for Foreigners: Applicants must undergo examinations strictly in accordance with the items listed in the form. The validity period of the examination results is six months. 

(7) Proof of financial capacity (one of the following documents: family deposit certificate, family property certificate, income certificate of parents/guardians, it is recommended to be 5,000 US dollars or above); 

A certificate of no criminal record, valid for six months.

Scholarship

Doctoral students: Category A: Tuition and on-campus accommodation fees + a one-time allowance of 5,000 yuan; Category B: Tuition and on-campus accommodation fees only. 

Master's degree students: Category A: 20,000 yuan + a one-time allowance of 5,000 yuan; Category B: 20,000 yuan. 

Undergraduate (Taught in English): 10,000 yuan for the first academic year.
