Jiangsu University, established in 1902, lies in the famous historical and cultural city of Zhenjiang. It features engineering and has the most famous English-medium MBBS courses in China. Engineering in Medical Technology (EMT), International Economy and Trade (IET), Agricultural Machinery and Engineering (AME) and BBA are also available in English. Marco Polo, a famous Italian writer of The Travels of Marco Polo, studied Chinese culture and Chinese political systems in Zhenjiang many years. Pearl S. Buck, the famous American woman writer who was awarded the Nobel Prize for literature in 1938, spent her childhood, adolescence and youth in Zhenjiang, therefore, most of her works were stamped with the influence of local culture.

3 Steps to Apply to a Chinese University

1.Non-chinese citizens who are physically and mentally healthy, have good academic background, consciously abide by Chinese laws and university rules and regulations, and respect the customs and habits of the Chinese people.

2. Foreign citizens with the same academic qualifications as high school graduates and valid passports, 18-25 years old, under 18 years old need to submit a guardian guarantee. 

The relevant provisions of the Ministry of Education shall apply to those who were originally Chinese citizens and then acquired foreign nationality

1.Scanned page of the first page of the passport (valid later than March 31, 2026), and scanned copies of all China-related visas and residence permits for those who have experience in China;

2.Original or notarized high school graduation certificate, fresh graduates need to provide a pre-graduation certificate issued by their school (graduation time should be earlier than September 10, 2025). Graduation certificate must be handed in upon registration;

3.Original or notarized transcripts of all senior high school courses;

4. Applicants who teach in English need to provide a copy of IELTS, TOEFL or Duolingo transcript with an IELTS score of 5.5 or above, a TOEFL score of 80 or above, or a Duolingo score of 100 or above;

5. Self-statement: Submit a self-statement of your intention to study in China (no less than 800 words) in Chinese or English. The content should include personal study and work experience, motivation to study in China, reasons for major selection, personal development goals after graduation, etc.

6. Foreigner physical examination form: The applicant shall strictly follow the items listed in the form for examination, the examination results are valid for 6 months;

7. Proof of financial ability (one of the following documents: proof of family savings, proof of family real estate, proof of income of parents/guardians, $5,000 and above is recommended);

8. No criminal record certificate, valid for 6 months.
