Each year, NPU sends new and mid-career faculty members to special training at prestigious institutions of higher learning and organizations both at home and abroad. NPU has 1,801 faculty members, including 15 CAS or CAE academicians, 428 professors, and 556 associate professors. Over 82% of them hold a master's degree or above. NPU provides students with various, well-equipped apartments in different specification and conditions. Examined and approved by government, the apartments are abounded by all kinds of dining rooms and restaurants, hospitals, store, banks and well-equipped sports grounds which bring great convenience to students. Each apartment is equipped with an air conditioner, heating, a writing desk, a telephone, international access and cook tools etc.

Note: 

Students should pay 500 RMB refundable deposit. The money will be returned when they check out.

Students can live out of campus, but the university requires that students who study Chinese language should live in the Oversea Students Apartment for the first year.

The Students who study for degrees should live in the Oversea Students Apartment during the whole period.

Students who apply for living outside campus shall register both at International College of NPU and at local police station.

3 Steps to Apply to a Chinese University

(1)Good physical and mental health (no infectious or contagious diseases and no physical or mental disorders that could interfere with regular study).

(2)Applicants should be under 25 by September 1st, 2024.

(3)Applicants should hold a high school diploma by September 1st, 2024.

(4)Applicants should be competent in performing scientific research and maintain a good academic grade level. The requirement for previous academic grade level is an average score of 75% and above. NPU accepts international standardized tests such as SAT/ACT/A-Level/AP/IB/IGCSE/WAEC/GED. Applicants may provide other certificates as proof for academic performance.

(5)Language

Applicants should have Chinese or English language proficiency that meets the requirement.

(6)Nationality

Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with valid passports.  For the applicants who used to be Chinese citizens, they must acquire a foreign nationality and cancel Chinese nationality before April 30, 2020 and have a record of actual foreign residency for more than 2 years from April 30, 2020 to April 30, 2024 (record of actual foreign residency for 9 months in a year can be counted as one year, referring to the entry and exit date signatures).

Applicants whose one or both parents are Chinese citizens must provide one of the following supporting documents:

(1)The certificate proving that the applicant obtained his/hers foreign nationality at birth;

(2)For applicants who used to be Chinese citizens but later immigrated to other countries, these applicants shall provide the certificates of cancellation of Chinese nationality.  

1) A copy of the personal information page of your valid passport. Applicants currently residing in mainland China must also provide a scanned copy of the currently valid visa page or residence permit page.

(2) A copy of high school diploma (or graduation certificate) and all transcripts. It should be the original documents or be notarized.

(3) Self-introduction.

(4) Chinese or English language certificate.

Under these circumstance, Language Certificate is not needed:

lApplicants who are Chinese native speakers and applying for Chinese medium courses.

lApplicants who are English native speakers and applying for English medium courses.

(5) Non-criminal record (valid for five months).

(6) Officially certified awards, scientific research achievements (if any).

(7) Copy of "Physical Examination Form for Foreigners" (valid for six months);

(8) As of September 1st, 2024, minor applicants under the age of 18 must provide Guardian’s Commitment Letter and Guardian Guarantee Letter.

(9) Bank statement.

(10) Other supplementary materials required.
