Ningbo University is situated in Ningbo lying midway in the coastline of the East China Sea, facing north to Shanghai from across the Hangzhou Bay. MBBS and Business Administration, both taught in English, are major bachelor's degree programs available to International students. Teaching Objectives

The course aims to educate students to study basic theory and elementary knowledge in medicine, gain basic clinical skills of some common diseases diagnosis processing, have the primary treatment ability to urgent, difficult and severe symptoms, and be qualified for careers in hospitals, the medical and health units, medical science research departments as well as other organizations related medicine.

Program Description

Jointly held by the Foreign Affairs Office and Medical School, this program will be fully taught in English and some Chinese culture, Chinese language, and Chinese economy courses will be added.

Study Duration &Internship

The institutions shall meticulously organize the reasonable arrangement of the internship. The duration of the internship is one year (at least 48 weeks).

The medical school has 7 affiliated hospitals with approximately 5000 beds, 6 teaching hospitals, 7 teaching & practice based of GP and 2 teaching & practice bases of preventive medicine, providing sufficient resources for students’ internship.

Degree AwardedMBBS Degree: upon graduation, students need to pass the HSK 3 (New HSK 4) to get the diploma.

On completing the requirements of the teaching program and passing the graduation examinations successfully, international medical undergraduates will be granted a graduation certificate and conferred a medical degree by Ningbo University, if they meet the degree regulations of the university. The English copy of the degree will state MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery).

Career

After graduation and obtaining MBBS Degree, the graduates can apply to take the medical licensing examination in the medical council in order to get registered and practice medicine. According to the regulations in different countries, the students may need to do the degree accreditation first. A MBBS degree holder can find jobs in government as well as private hospitals, nursing homes and other health facilities. Except this, one can also start his own clinic or pursue study for master's degree.

Mr. Cheng Gang, a standing member of Ningbo Municipal Committee of CPC, is concurrently Secretary of the Ningbo University Committee of CPC. Professor Nie Qiuhua holds the presidency of the university.

Location  

The University is located in the historical and cultural city of Ningbo of Zhejiang Province, bordering on the East China Sea. Ningbo has long been acclaimed as a thriving commercial port and a shining pearl near the East Sea, and it has gradually grown to be a major city in the Southern part of the Yangtze Delta and a key trading port in the East China. The University has five campuses, covering an area of over 160 hectares, with a floor space totaling 560,000 square meters. The main campus, adjacent to Ningzhen Road in the north and Yongjiang River in the south, offers wide space for study and research with magnificent buildings and pleasant lawns and greenery.

The university is featured by its emphasis on the development of academic disciplines. Centering on the local economic and social development, the university has adjusted and optimized the structure of disciplines, and this has resulted in its 13 provincial key academic disciplines and key assisted academic disciplines, 11 municipal key academic disciplines and key assisted academic disciplines, which bear distinct regional characteristics. The university has also made great advancements in scientific studies and social services. It has 2 provincial key laboratories, 12 municipal key laboratories, and 77 institutes. It has jointly established, with the local enterprises, 3 provincial and municipal engineering and technology centers. The academic periodical of the university is the Journal of Ningbo University, which consists of editions of Natural Science and Engineering, Liberal Arts, and Education.

International Education

Ningbo University maintains close links and intercollegiate cooperation with 47 well-known institutions of higher learning in Canada, Germany, France, Britain, USA, Sweden, Japan, South Korea and Australia. The success of the international exchanges can be exemplified by its successful China-Canada joint-educational program and its other programs for international students from Japan and other foreign countries. It also has successful cooperation and exchanges with institutions of higher learning and educational agencies in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Up to now it has signed cooperative agreements with The Chinese Culture University of Taiwan, Chaoyang University of Technology, Chihlee Institute of Commerce, and Taiwan Marine University, etc.

Located in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, Ningbo University is generally consisted of three campuses, the east campus which is the main campus, the west campus and the north campus. All the international students can live on campus.

Room Price:

The International Student Hostel consist of 4 kinds of rooms, including 261 small single rooms, 76 double rooms, 16 large single rooms and 10 suites. 

Rules of Accommodation

a. While registering, you should submit valid ID credentials as well as other proofs, and then fill out the accommodation registration form, check the list of articles distributed for daily use, pay RMB1,000 as the deposit money which will be returned back to you while leaving the university. Accommodation will be available only if the above-mentioned formalities have been settled down.

b. The number and names of students sharing a dormitory should be strictly in accordance with the registered number and names. No guest should stay overnight, including the schoolmates. And the bed is not transferable, either.

c. With the consideration of security, do not lend your key to your dormitory to others or borrow keys from others; and when you are out, please shut the door as well as the windows properly. 

d. Do not bring into the building animals and other unclean or dangerous articles, such as articles easy to burn or explode, or poisonous or radioactive materials. Do not burn anything or set off fireworks in the building.

e. It is strictly prohibited to take such illegal activities as fighting, gambling, taking drugs, calling prostitute in the building, or to put up dirty posters, to distribute dirty books, pictures or photos, or to play dirty records, video tapes or Video CD. 

f. Do not have excessive drinking, making noise, or play records or CDs with too high sound.

g. To ensure a tidy, comfortable living condition, please do not spit improperly or litter, or throw anything out of the window. 

h. To ensure security and avoid conflagration, please put out any possible sources of fire(e.g. cigarette stub),and cut off all the power resources when you leave your room. 

i. It is strictly prohibited to use unauthorized electric heating devices or lay electric wires or fix other electric appliances in the dormitory. If there is any violation, the person(s) concerned will be fined upon the situation.

j. Take care of the articles distributed for daily use and public facilities. Compensation must be treated according to the corresponding regulation(s).

3 Steps to Apply to a Chinese University

1. The age among 18-25

2. Have graduated from high school

3. Pass the NBU entrance exam.

1. Photocopy of valid passport

With photo, passport number & expiration date and name included.

2. Passport-sized photo

A passport-sized photo taken recently of the applicant.

3. High school's certificate
Graduation certificate should be in Chinese or English.
If not, it should be translated into Chinese or English and be notarized.

4. Transcript of high school

Scholarship: 20,000 RMB.

NOTE:
1. As per latest policy in 2024, you need pay tuition first to secure scholarship seat, and the scholarship will be awarded in November.
2. This schoalrship is only for the first year. From second year, top students can apply for RMB3000-10,000 per year.
