International Student Summer “Sensing China” Series (3) and Cangnan Fanshan Cultural Heritage Experience Held

In order to enrich the summer life of international students and let them deeply experience the intangible cultural heritage of China, on July 24, 2018, International Education School(international student Management Department) organized Summer “Experiencing China” Series (3) – Cangnan Fanshan intangible cultural heritage experience.

International students visited Fudewan Bay Miner Village, Fanshan Town, Cangnan County, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province. Fanshan, which has a history of more than 600 years of aluminum mining, was formed and prosperous due to Aluminum. Its Aluminum reserves account for about 60% of the world and 80% of China, known as the “world's aluminum capital”. Fudewan Bay is the best representative of miner village in Fanshan Town. After hundreds of years of alum mining, it did notonly leave a relatively complete mine site, but also a large number of scattered pit goaf,streets, alleys and distinctive industrial villages which have become Chinese historical and cultural villages. A total of five projects in China were awarded the “Outstanding Project” and the “Honorary Project”in 2016 UNESCO Asia-Pacific Cultural Heritage Protection Award, Bangkok, Thailand. Among them, Fudewan Bay Miner Village, Fanshan Town, Cangnan County, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, was honored the first industrial and mining heritage project in China. At the end of the visit, the students expressed that they had broadened their vision and learned more about Chinese intangible culture heritage.
