Founded in 1951, Hainan Medical University was ranked for the second time by the State Ministry of Education as “favorable” in its undergraduate education program. Most of the programs HMU offers to its students are targeting at the needs of health human resource in Hainan province, including clinical medicine, preventive medicine, TCM, nursery science and pharmacy etc.Until now, it has enrolled more than 100 international students.Act promptly, you will be among the next promising students studying in HMU.

Objectives

The foreign students’ education program for English taught MBBS(Clinical Medicine) of Hainan Medical University is conducted professionally in English so as to create a favorable learning atmosphere for foreign students with the course duration of 5 to 5.5 years including 1 to 1.5 years compulsory internship.

Internship

The internship can be finished in Chinese hospitals or in hospitals of your own country. The program will be conducted on six months semester basis. Therefore the total academic semesters will be 10 to 11 including internship. The program will not only benefit the development of the higher medical education, but also improve the cultural exchange and co-operation among the medical universities around the globe. Hainan Medical University provides South Asian teachers especially from Pakistan,India and Nepal with MBBS and BDS program so as to provide high quality education, advanced teaching equipments, co-operative administration and innovative teaching methodology.

About School 

Hainan Medical University (HMU), under the auspices of the Hainan Provincial Government, was founded in 1993 with the approval of the Chinese State Education Commission. The history of the university began with the integration of two medical schools, the privately-owned Haiqiang Medical Vocational School (founded in 1947) and the privately-owned Medical College of Hainan University (founded in 1948).

Faculty & Staff 

Hainan Medical University has three campuses with 139 hectares of land, located on Chengxi Road, Longhua Avenue and West Coast . Presently on staff there are 2299 doctors, faculty or research staff members, among whom are 157 professors and 317 associate professors.

Specialties

The University now offers 27 specialties (including major orientation) in three different medical disciplines to undergraduates, including medicine, science and management and 21 specialties (including major orientation) for students in the three-year vocational program.

There are 83 departments, 11 teaching laboratories and 8 research laboratories. There are 6 provincial key disciplines, 4 provincial key laboratories, 15 provincial-level quality courses, and 3 provincial key courses. There is one hospital directly affiliated with HMU, and three hospitals indirectly affiliated. 

Students

About 80 teaching and internship bases offer their service to HMU. To date, HMU has enrolled over 12,000 Chinese students and more than 100 international students.

3 Steps to Apply to a Chinese University

2. High school graduate or above, or have passed Grade Twelve (10+2)/FSc./A Level/WAEC or equivalent.

3. At least 60% score in science subjects: Mathematics, English, Biology, Physics and Chemistry.
