Clinical Medicine

Located in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, Hebei Medical University is one of the oldest medical universities in China. The available MBBS (Clinical Medicine) in English is enjoying great popularity among international students as well as Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture and Massage, Clinic Medicine, Clinic Medicine of Integration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine, Stomatology. Besides, HEBMU has 6 affiliated hospitals, providing students with good sites of clinical teaching, specialistic teaching and practice. Until recently, it has established closer cooperation with about ten medical colleges and research institutes of Japan, South Korea , America and France successively. HEBMU is devoting to perfect the tailored teaching of Medicine to you.

The curriculum planning shall include the following three parts:

(1) Chinese culture and natural science courses. In order to facilitate their learning and life in China and contact with patients in their medical practice, the Chinese language shall be a compulsory course during the whole undergraduate medical program for international students in China.

(2) Basic medical sciences, behavioral science, humanities, social science and medical ethics, preventive medicine and clinical medicine. It is also required to pass the examinations of these courses respectively.

(3) Internship. The institutions shall meticulously organize the reasonable arrangement of the internship. The duration of the internship is one year (at least 48 weeks).

Language Requirements

Chinese: achieve HSK level 2 in the second year, achieve HSK level 4 in the fourth year；

Internship Information:

Students can choose to do the internship/training in China, their home country or any other country.

HEBMU highly recommends international students to do the internship in China; it would be done at one of the affiliated hospitals.

If students want to do the internship in other country, HEBMU need to do an qualification evaluation on the hospital which student choose, and student has to provide the contact information.

And, students have to take the final examination on Theory Test and Clinical Evaluation in HEBMU.

Accomodation Fee:

6,000 Chinese CNY/Year or 840 US Dollar/Year for double room accommodation. One room is shared by two people.

Other Charges

On completing the requirements of the teaching program and passing the graduation examinations successfully, international medical undergraduates will be granted a graduation certificate and conferred a medical degree by HEBMU, if they meet the degree regulations of the university. The English copy of the degree will state MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery).

Living Expenses:

Living expenses depend on your lifestyle. Generally, they should not exceed Chinese CNY 1000/Month or 150 US Dollar/Month. This amount includes the cost of food. All fees are to be paid in Chinese CNY.

After eighty years development and evolution, Hebei Medical University has become a comprehensive medical university composed of western medicine, traditional medicine, pharmacy and other subjects. It has 14 colleges, and 15 specialities. The university has Basic Medicine, Clinical Medicine and Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine Postdoctoral Research Institutions. It has been authorized in conferring Ph.D. degree in 14 and master degree in 47 specialities. There are 9781 full-time students in school, 6728 adult students, and nearly 50 foreign students from South Korea and Japan and so on. Now it has been qualified to enroll students from Taiwan, Hongkong and Macao.

Hebei Medical University has a body of high quality teaching staff. The total number is over 7100, of which 266 are professors, senior researchers and chief physicians, 767 are associate professors. There are 2197 staff and workers in schools, of whom 867 are full-time teachers which including 155 professors and 398 associate professors. A group of experts and professors of great attainments are well-known within the province and even the whole country, 18 excellent experts at the provincial level, 16 outstanding young experts at the provincial or national level, 25 excellent teachers at the provincial or national level, and nearly 40 have taken the positions of the standing or committee members of the national specialties associations.

Hebei Medical University possesses better conditions for running schools. It occupies a total space of 1123 mu, with 730,000 square meters of floorspace. The total value of its instruments and facilities is 147,000,000 yuan, and the library contains over 540,000 volumes of books.

It has 6 affiliated hospitals, in which there are 3566 hospital beds. Four hospitals have been granted as “first-class hospitals in the third category”. In addition, it also has several teaching hospitals and practice bases providing students with good sites of clinical teaching, specialistic teaching and practice.
Hebei Medical University is not only the center of Hebei medical education and medical service, but also the center of Hebei medical research. It has 9 subjects and 4 laboratory of provincial advanced level, and 6 research institutes of provincial level. The Chinese Academy of Preventive Medical Science has set up its Hebei Academic Branch in this university. Each year nearly 200 projects of research are undertaken. Aged 18 or above.

High school graduate or above, or have passed Grade Twelve (10+2)/FSc./A Level/WAEC or equivalent.

At least 60% score in science subjects: Biology, Physics and Chemistry.

5.High school graduate certificate
Graduation certificate in languages other than Chinese or English should be translated into Chinese or English and be certified by notarization.

6.English proficiency test certificate
For example, IELTS or TOEFL, only for applicant whose native language is not English.
