ProgramAbout the Program

Law is a discipline that takes legal phenomena and their laws as its research object, aiming to systematically explain legal principles, rules and practical logic, and cultivate professional talents with legal thinking, practical ability and social responsibility. Through course study, students will master the core framework of the legal system, understand the interactive relationship between law and society, economy and politics, possess the ability to analyze and solve practical problems using law, and be competent for work in fields such as legal practice, academic research and public affairs.

About Shenzhen University

SheShenzhen University is situated near the coastline of Shenzhen Bay in South China. The total area of the main campus - Houhai Campus is 1.44 square kilometers. It has its own lake which is named Wenshan Lake (文山湖), spreads across rolling hills covered with trees, an abundance of green space and sculptures.


Staff

The university staff are well qualified and are from diverse academic backgrounds. The faculty consists of 1,100 teachers and researchers, 253 professors, 568 associate professors, of which 443 have doctorate degrees. It has one academician in the Chinese Academy of Engineering, six academicians in both the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering and 37 supervisors of doctoral candidates.


Research

The university is very research intensive. It produced over 5713 research papers and journal articles in the last five years. They are 414 papers included in the indexes of SCI, EI, ISTP and 813 are indexed in CSSCI. The university teaching and research faculty had 356 works authored, 35 of which were translated into various languages. In addition, two technical inventions won the second prize in the National Technical Invention Competition, and one was awarded the first prize in the provincial invention competition. There were 26 research papers and projects which won prizes for science & innovation awarded by the People's Liberation Army as well as various research achievement prizes above the provincial level. There were 48 inventions and innovations from Shenzhen University that had been marketed and 281 inventions have been adopted.


Student

The on-campus student population is 20,000 and an additional 18,000 off-campus students are enrolled in continuing education. There are 920 international students from over 40 countries.
Shenzhen University's geographic location in East Asia has attracted many foreign students. It has granted diplomas to 2,000 graduates from the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administration Regions as well as Taiwan. Shenzhen University has also established "dual-campus" joint-programs for undergraduate degrees with institutions in Great Britain and other foreign countries. There are up to 2,500 students that graduated from these joint programs since the university's inception, and the quality of programs has been accredited by the British Council. Shenzhen University participates with annual exchanges students and teachers with its sister universities in the United States of America, Great Britain, Japan, and South Korea.


Library


Shenzhen University library holds a collection of around 3.16 million items, consisting of 2.12 million journals and books and 1.04 million e-books in Chinese and foreign languages. Furthermore, some 40,000 full-text e-journals, 189 academic CD-ROM databases as well as online databases are accessible via personal computers and Internet library terminals. The campus has 30,000 Internet connections and 99 percent of its classrooms and lecture halls have been digitized.

ENROLL IN CHINA

Entry Requirements

1. The applicant should be non-Chinese citizens with valid foreign passports, and should be good in physical and mental health and shall abide by the laws and regulations of China and the rules of school.

2. Applicants should hold Master’s degree or above, and should be under the age of 40. Applicants who have not graduated can provide expected graduation certificate for submitting application while the official diploma must be provided before enrollment.

3. Applicants should meet the corresponding language level requirements (The language proficiency certificate must be within the validity period).

(1)Programs taught in Chinese:

①A minimum score of 180 in HSK4 for Science and Engineering

②A minimum score of 180 in HSK5 for Liberal Arts, Medicine, Arts

(2)Programs taught in English:

English proficiency certification

Native speakers of Chinese or English can be exempted from the corresponding language proficiency certificate after being recognized by our university.


Application Materials

1. Certificate and diploma of Master's degree. Graduates shall provide pre-graduation certificate. Those who have not graduated from master program submit a pre-graduation certificate which shows your expected graduation time and present your original certification, transcripts, and translations when you register.

2. The transcripts of all courses during postgraduate period

3.Two Letters of Recommendation (Signed by professors or associate professors in Chinese or English with the name of the referral and contact information)

4. One piece of Self-statement (around 1500 words, and written in English or Chinese, and should include: the intended major and supervisor, personal experience of study and work, academic research results etc.)
