Guangzhou Medical University (GMU), founded in 1958, situated in the center of Guangzhou, is a full-time medical University. GMU is qualified by Ministry of Education (MOE) in China to recruit international medical students in English since 2010. 1. Master's students must have bachelor’s degree with the same major subject, and be under the age of 35; Doctoral students must have master’s degree with the same major subject, and be under the age of 40;
2. Applicants should be non-Chinese citizens holding a valid foreign passport;
3. Applicants should be physically and mentally healthy, and meet the medical examination standards for applying for a study visa or residence permit in China;
4. Chinese requirement: 180 points or above in HSK Level 4 (inclusive) or equivalent Chinese language proficiency upon admission.
1. Scanned copy of valid passport’s information page;
2. Notarized copy of highest academic degree certificate or graduation diploma and transcripts (Graduating students should provide pre-graduation certificate issued by the authorities of the school, and provide the copy of graduation diploma when registration);
3. The transcript of the university and language certificate (HSK);
4. Two recommendation letters: The referee should be professor or associate professor;
5. Study plan in China. Above 1000 words for master candidates, above 1500 words for PhD candidates. The content should include (but not limited to) study and work experience, academic research achievement, planned research proposal, and career plan after graduation, etc in Chinese or in English;
6. List and abstracts of published papers or other materials demonstrating research abilities;
7. ID photo (2-inch blue background photo without hats);
8. English or Chinese self-introduction video (3-5 minutes, no more than 50M);
9. Scanned copy of Foreigner’s Physical Examination Form;
10. If the applicant is working, please Notarized Carrier Certificate made by the institution where you are working. Other documents may certify your professional and personal background should be helpful;
11. Financial Guarantee Letter and scanned copies of its supporting documents completed in Chinese or English.
Self-supporting international freshmen can apply for Guangdong Government Outstanding International Students Scholarship for Freshmen.
Doctoral students: RMB30,000 per person for one-time reward.
Master’s students: RMB20,000 per person for one-time reward.
The winners of Guangdong Government Outstanding International Students Scholarship for Freshmen should pay all fees according to the charging standard of self-supporting students, including tuition and accommodation fees. The one-off scholarship will be sent to the personal bank account of the winner after registration.
