2015 Spring Registrations for International Students and Orientation for Newcomers Held at SYSU


From March 1 to 3, the Spring Registrations for international students of Sun Yat-sen University were held concurrently on the South, North and Zhuhai Campus.

Compared to last year, this time the Office for International Students’ Affairs (ISO) has worked closely with the Office for Overseas Promotion to find ways to attract more international students’ attention to the University’s development via following its newly opened social media accounts, such as the official accounts “SYSU World” on Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, Instagram and the international students’ blog. Meanwhile, the official WeChat account of ISO is also actively promoted among students aiming to provide the most up-dated happenings on campus. After March 3, the registration will be continued in the offices of ISO in different campuses until March 10.


On the afternoon of March 4, the 2015 Spring Orientation for new international students was held at Swassy Hall on South Campus. Dr. Wu Xiaoyan, director of ISO, gave a warm welcome to all the students and a brief introduction to the University, the city and the relevant laws and regulations of studying in China. Officer Li from the Exit-Entry Administration Department (EEA) and Miss Zheng from the School of Chinese as a Second Language (SCSL) gave presentations about the processing of Chinese visas and the course arrangements respectively. 


2015 Spring Orientation for new international students

The orientation is highly praised by the students as it presents them a brief but essential knowledge of their new start of life in China and the University. The new students left their big smiles in the group photo after the orientation as their first gift to the University which they start to love and live in from this date on.
