Program Description

Sichuan University is recognized by WHO and the graduates of MBBS program are eligible to take the Medical Licensing Examinations held by the medical councils in different countries such as MCI, PMDC, USMLE, HPCSA, SCHS etc.

 

The course is designed in accordance to the latest trend in the world, so as to make it globally acceptable as well as to incorporate the requirements of SAARC countries. The program started in 2001, and there had been 4 years graduates, average rate of acquiring Medical License is 90%.

Teaching Objectives
The course aims to educate students to study basic theory and elementary knowledge in medicine, gain basic clinical skills of some common diseases diagnosis processing, have the primary treatment ability to urgent, difficult and severe symptoms, and be qualified for careers in hospitals, the medical and health units, medical science research departments as well as other organizations related medicine.

Study duration
6 years, including 1 year of internship in hospital

Internship Information
Students can choose to do the internship/training in China, their home country or any other country.

If international students would like to do the internship in China, it would be done in The First University Hospitalthe which is also called as Huaxi Hospital (details).

If students want to do the internship in other country, SCU need to do an qualification evaluation on the hospital which student choose.

And, students have to take the final examination on Theory Test and Clinical Evaluation in SCU.

Degree Awarded

On completing the requirements of the teaching program and passing the graduation examinations successfully, international medical undergraduates will be granted a graduation certificate and conferred a medical degree by Sichuan University,  if they meet the degree regulations of Sichuan Uiversity. The English copy of the degree will state MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery).

Career
After obtaining MBBS Degree, the graduates can apply to take the medical licensing examination in the medical council in order to get registered and practice medicine. According to the regulations in different countries, the students may need to do the degree accreditation first. A MBBS degree holder can find jobs in government as well as private hospitals, nursing homes and other health facilities. Except this, one can also start his own clinic or pursue study for master's degree.

Requirement on Chinese Language
Applicants are required to pass HSK test (level 3) before the graduation.
Note: The requirement of the level of HSK may be changed according to the Ministry of Education of P.R.C..

Entry Requirements

1. Age:Below 35.

2. With an educational background equal to high school graduation in China or have passed Grade Twelve (10+2)/FSc./A Level/WAEC or equivalent.

3. With an average score of 70% and above in Mathematics, English, Biology, Physics and Chemistry.

Application Materials

1.  Photocopy of valid passport
With photo, passport number &expiration date and name included.

2.  Passport-sized photo
A passport-sized photo taken recently of the applicant.

3.  Graduation certificate of high school
Graduation certificate should be in Chinese or English.If not, it should be translated into Chinese or English and be notarized.

4.  Academic transcript of high school

5.  Health certificate(optional)
Photocopy of physical examination record.

6.  A recommendation letter from their sponsoring organization or people
