SCUT is one of China's 43 key universities under the direct leadership of the China State Ministry of Education and is widely recognized as one of the most creative and influential universities in China. SCUT was established in November 1952, on the basis of readjustment and amalgamation of the relevant departments of 12 universities in five provinces in Mid-South China. Over the past 50 years, it has developed into a comprehensive university combining science, engineering, liberal arts, industry, and business management. In June 1995, SCUT was first ranked among the universities upon which China is to place financial stress in the new millennium of the 21st century.
 
SCUT is open to the world and taking an active part in international academic exchange. We have International Students from more than 20 countries of the five continents to study Chinese, Chinese Culture, Science & Engineering or Business of Management in SCUT. Dormitory beds are limited, and the dormitory is allocated on a "first come, first served" basis;
The accommodation fee shall be settled in RMB. The accommodation fee shall be paid upon check-in (online or bank card payment, cash not accepted);
International students may live off campus, but must register at the local police station within 24 hours of arrival. ·

3 Steps to Apply to a Chinese University

1)Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and be under the age of 35.

2)The information page of valid Ordinary Passport. Visa page or Residence Permit page is required to providefor applicants currently in China.

3)Bachelor's degree diploma and transcripts with good record. Applicants who have not graduated fromundergraduate program should provide a Pre-graduation Certificate or a testimonial indicating the expectedgraduation date (Please ensure that you submit the official dearee certificates and transcrints beforeenrollment).

The language proficiency certificate must be valid at the time of enrollment and is only valid for 2 years:4)(1)Language Requirements for Chinese Medium ProgramsHSK Band 4 with 180 scores or above for Science or Engineering studies.HSK Band 5 with 180 scores or above for Lilberal Arts, Economics, Arts and Design or Management studies. HSK Band 5 with 210 scores or above for journalism and Communication (chinese Teaching andcommunication)

(2) Language Requirements for English Medium Programs (only for non-English speaking countrieslanguage certificate must be valid for the latest 2 years)

TOEFL IBT 80 or above

IELTS 6.0 or above

Duolingo English test 112 scores or above

. Other equivalent English language qualifications (TOEFL Essentials m Scores and TOEFL MyBest Scoresetc.)

(3)Language reguirements for Bilingual Medium programsHSK Band 4 with 180 scores or above

(4) Those students who are exempt from submiting an English Language Certificate must meet thefollowing conditions

A citizen of an English-speaking country

Obtain the highest-level degree of education from an institution operating in English and submitting aproof issued by the institution

(5 Original copy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form (must be filed out in Chinese or English, the result isonly valid for 1 year).

(6)Two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors.

⑦ A pre-acceptance letter signed by SCUT professors or associate professors (except for MBA, Materials scienceand Engineering English taught program etc.).

8 Astudy or research plan written in Chinese/English (1000 words minimum).

(9)To apply for music related programs, please submit a DVD or CD of your live performance. To apply forarchitecture related programs or design related programs, please submit a portfolio of your work.

10For MBA program applicants, you must meet one of the following conditions and pass the evaluation of MBAcenter:

,Obtain at least 3 years of work experiences after the undergraduate degreeObtain at least 2 years of work experiences after the postgraduate degree

2. Notarized highest diploma or proof of expected graduation (photocopy and translated copy). Please ensurethat you submit the official degree certificates and transcripts before enrollment.

3 .Notarized official transcripts from the undergraduate program onwards (photocopy and translated copy).

4. Valid language certificates (only for non-Enalish speaking countries, language certificate must be valid forthe latest 2 years)

chinese Medium programs:

HSK Band 4 with a score of 180 or above for Science or Engineering studies;. HSK Band 5 with a score of 180 or above for Liberal Arts, Economics, Management studies, ForeignLanguages,Art,Design,Architecture, or Sports Science;HSK Band 5 with a score of 210 for journalism and Communication (Chinese Teaching and Communication)

8. Pre-acceptance letter signed by SCuT professors or associate professors (except for Materials Science andEngineering English taught Master program etc.).

9. Doctoral applicants should submit abstract(s) of graduation theses or published papers.

10. For applicants in music-related programs, include a DVD or CD of your live performance. For architecture ordesign-related programs,please submit a portfolio.

11.Non-criminal record.
